Since I am still sick, can I please get a cup of tea and a scone?

Hi SOM! I'll take some strong coffee and a poppy seed muffin! Still seems like the weekend for me, it's a holiday, so schools & govn't are closed, no trash pick up, etc. We're sleeping in, then probably spending the day doing odd chores! Beautiful here - mid 70's and sunny.... maybe we'll take a bike ride along the Bayshore!

Hi all! Terri, I am sorry you are still not feeling well. Take care of yourself and rest today too.
I am going upstairs in a little bit to take a nap. Wayne is shoveling snow right now so once he comes in, then I am resting. I am so tired. He is home for the holiday so that's nice :)Posted 2 years ago by cricketsmama #

Hi Abs, Azdeb, CM, LK. It does look like a fine day today in the south. There is a big laundry basket with my name on it! ;-)

Good morning, all! I'm still trying to wake up. No howling from Bob last night, but instead tey were chasing and fighting and keeping me up.
I've got three days to try and get ready before the tournament. I have to type up a redone schedule for my 30 or so volunteers and get theat to the bosses this morning. I'm getting calls from volunteers very day, too, wanting to change something in their schedule.
I have to get a key made for a friend who's going to stop by every day and give Bobby his pill, have to get to the vet for more pills, have to do some computer work that has to be done for someone by the end of the month that I can't get done during the tournament. Arrrrgh, too much! Can I have a huge cup of coffee?
-
Morning everyone again, Katthays should I tell you its only 42F @ 7.17 am....and we think that is cold.....but we did have snow last week for a day (here in Tucson)...
GD, can you call the vet and have them send the prescription for Bobby's pills to Walmart or somewhere?

Morning ! Slow day in the cafe. The drive to work was wonderful - much less traffic due to the holiday.
I'd love a large mug of hot chocolate with whipped cream on top. Oh and maybe a muffin... just pick one from the basket and toss it this way.Had a very busy weekend.... and didn't want to come to work today. Since I'm here, I'd best get something done though!
-
Good Monday morning, TDKers! Cloudy day here, but we are starting to get some warmer temperatures. It got up to 55 degrees here yesterday. Woo hoo--heat wave! lol

Yikes, I'm having a rough time getting everything done before the tournament. Not so much the tournament stuff, but the regular everyday stuff. Arrrrrgh.
This morning I spent an hour and a half redoing the drivers' schedule for the bosses. Made an invoice up for some work I did for someone and went to XBF's to give him a check I owed him - now I have an hour before going to work and working 2-9. Yuck!
XBF isn't doing well. He's pretty depressed and I feel bad that he's wanted to go play tennis the last three days and I haven't had a chance to. At least I spoke some with him when I stopped over there and I told him I'll take an evening off during the tournament, get him a ticket and make an evening of it, watching the tennis. Of course this means finding someone to cover for me at the gym as I have to work there til 9:00. So that's my next task...... -
My goodness, GD. You are nice to want to be supportive of XBF during this very busy time. Is XBF just generally depressed or is there a specific issue that is getting him down? Has he seen a doctor?

Mr. WWM put some new work-out music on my MP3 player and it darned near killed me at the gym. I wonder if I should remind him that I don't have any life insurance and so if I topple off my machine in a mostly dead state, he will have to hire an actual maid.

He's depressed because he doesn't really have a job (gym couldn't pay him anymore to do business development). He's starting up another company but has been trying to get funding for a few months now, which is tough with the economy right now. His wife moved back from Virginia and is now living with him in the house. He wants to move out but can't afford it right now. His niece was just diagnosed with a rare kind of cancer and he's taking that really hard.
So, things just aren't going his way right now.Yesterday I had dinner and a movie with a friend (the one whose husband left on Christmas). Her husband came back but they're not doing well. So she's depressed and instead of me getting some things done yesterday, I agreed to going out with her to make her feel better.
Maybe one of these days I'll find some time for myself?
-
So many are going through tough times that it is going to be unusual to not be depressed! I hope you can find some time off for yourself, GD. You work hard. You ought to have a chance to play once in a while. :)

Have you heard back from the commander you made the quilt for, WWM?

That'd be nice, KW!
I do absolutely LOVE working the tournament eventhough it's hard work and I'll be getting by on 4-5 hours of sleep for 10 days. It only comes around once a year and since they hired me and are paying me this year, I really want to do a good job. You're right about depression. There seems to be a lot of that going around.
-
Not yet,KW. They weren't able to deliver it last week but plan to this week. I know that he has been traveling a lot. I'm so anxious for him to get it!
