  1. Hi! I'm not new to the world of raising kittens (or having my home razed by them) but I'm new to posting on TDK. I've been watching with glee for a few years, but I just recently realized that I might be able to help some new kitten owners by posting, since I'm a kitten foster mom. I volunteer with our local humane society and keep a litter from their bottle-baby days until their spay/neuter surgeries. Right now I have a little boy and a little girl, about eight weeks old. Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself and say hello and thank you for making TDK such a fluffy place to visit every day. It feels just like when I nuzzle one of my foster kittens' bellies when they're all fat with food after a meal!

  3. Hi Fostermom. Wow, what you do is amazing. I've raised a few kittens over the years, including one from about 2 weeks old but never on an ongoing, regular basis. Incredible! Thank you for what you do. You've definitely joined a very fluffy forum! :-)

  9. Hi, FM, welcome to TDK. This is such a great site, even if we are all a little nutty (about kittens and cats, anyway) and it sounds like you will fit right in! Welcome to the fluffy madness!

  11. Thanks, everyone! Yes, that's little Cyrano at six weeks old. He and his sister are about nine weeks now, and growing like weeds (or kittens)!

  12. Awww, Cyrano, you're adorable! Do you have any of your own, FM, as well as fostering little ones?

  13. I've got two adults who are very tolerant. They're both shelter cats as well, but we got them as adults. My husband then decided to let me continue to become the Crazy Cat Lady on the block and foster kittens, too! Our friends come over and say, "You got more kittens," like it's news, but we always have more kittens!

Introduce me to your avatar, too, JC?

  14. Hi, FM, my avatar is Libby, my silver tabby girl, who is about six. I also have a one-eyed, toothless, podgy, diabetic lovebug called Jasper, age unknown. They both originally came from a feral colony across the road. Libby was trapped by a neighbour as a kitten and she came to my place to be socialised and never left. She is still wary of strangers but she's also immensely curious and playful. Jasper had been abandoned, I think, as he just wanted a home and now he's got one, he's a total couch kitty.

    What are your adults' names?

  15. Evening/morning FM and welcome to the mad house. If you've been lurking you know just how crazy we all are. Cyrano is a real cutie, adorable face markings. my avatar is Moonshadow(Shadz). She's a black dappled Tortie and is 7 years old. She is sprawled out asleep at the moment but during the day she prowls around outside hunting mice or sleeping under shrubs.
