Well Catwoman I started reading this thread and began to laugh uncontrollably! Seems to have taken a turn, for that I am sorry. I say send the mean kitty to ex-husband...is that fair to the kitty?

What It Would Take For Me To Leave TDK
(95 posts)-
You know, I'm somewhat sensitive and my feelings are easily hurt. To hide that from people I tend to appear uncaring and/or cynical. But, even if I felt unwelcome for some reason, I would continue to lurk because there's no way I could miss my daily kitten fix or not want to know of the joys and sorrows, ups and downs, new kittens and Rainbow Bridge crossings of the people and cats I care for as family.
For what it's worth, I come from a family of six siblings and there has never been a time when at least one of us wasn't on the outs with the majority of the others. But, there has NEVER been a time when anyone could insult or hurt one of my siblings and the rest of us wouldn't rise in a awe-inspiring mob to smite the offending outsider. Of course, we still wouldn't talk to that sibling but we'll be damned if someone else gets away with insulting one of our own.

P.S. I have a long ago ex-hubby who might be willing to take some of you up on the offer of sharing your ex-husbands. The things we don't know when we are 18.

CBM--I had a similar experience in my youth, and in my naivete blamed myself..."What's wrong with me? Maybe I need to lose more weight so he'll be attracted to me." Nope, that wasn't the problem.
I did not read the thread where all of this went down, so I apologize if I offended you Pet by making light. I thought it was one of the disagreements like had happened before. I don't understand why differences of opinion are not respected in chat rooms and quickly escalate to personal attack. I have friends on every level of the political spectrum and of every conceivable religion. This stretches my brain and takes me out of my comfort zone. It is important to treat each other with respect here and remember that you are talking to one of "us"...animal lovers! Save the spewing of vitriol for animal abusers. They are the enemy.

Oh, SM, I can't send mean kitty to the ex since he took the very spoiled female cat that was Tristan's littermate and has spoiled her rotten. Then he had to take in his brother's cat when the brother fell on hard times. He has a shelter on his porch for an abandoned kitty that he feeds. The mean kitty would certainly beat up the girls and chase away the abandoned cat. And I can't complain about my ex, since he bought me a Blackberry as an early birthday present and it should arrive on Saturday. I'm very excited! I've needed one for a long time but kept putting it off.

Catwoman, glad to see you again, been a long time. How are the spanks working for ya?! I remember those nights! In light of your post, so many feelings have been hurt, we can't control the feelings of others that words sometimes don't come out right. God knows, I have been one to have hurt others here. I am sorry that some feel the need to leave, yet respect that right. I respect the rights of those who need to detail what has happened to them as well. I don't know how much good it does for the others. That said, I hope to see my friends back here again soon and continue the relationship I have with all of you. Just my opinion. Hey, has anyone seen the cybermobile???!! I seem to have lost it!!!!! Again!!

Lynn, I'm trying to lose some weight since my spanx are screaming under the strain of holding my stomach in. I bought some protein powder from GNC, the guy there told me to replace dinner with this protein drink for one week, exercise and no alcohol for the week and I would drop weight. I've been white-knuckling it but won't weigh myself until Monday so I don't get discouraged if it takes awhile to work. The loss of wine calories alone should do some good, but we'll see. I miss talking to you at night, my friend.

You know, CW, I was considering your offer about making you leave, and was going to do all those things just to see if you were serious... until I got to the part about your ex husband.
Then I thought.... No!!!! Think of the children!!!! (not to mention my wife)
So... you lucked out.

Miss you too, CW, hope things otherwise are well for you, job and kid wise. Yea the wine may do it, but Lordy, what a way to slim down! You look good anyway. I wish you luck, let us know how you make out. Pulling for ya girl!

Petpntr, I am so very, very sorry. I feel that you are a most valued member here with so much advice to give. I do know that I have let you down, and I cannot apologize enough. I am sorry.

Okay, now I am completely and utterly confused as I seemed to have missed out on something major here and am being completely left in the dark. Maybe ignorance is bliss but not when friends are hurting.

We are all friends, Jcat! Sometimes we just maybe forget.

Now we've lost Petpntr? Sheesh, it seems like everytime I log on after work now, someone's left. I'm still confused about why LV had to leave. I understand Petpntrs post about not being able to please all the people all of the time. I thought she was consoling us about LV, not attacking. We may be sad some have chosen to move on, but we can still be TDKers and happy to chat together. Darn, now I'll miss Petpntr too.....

Petpartner, I'm sorry that you've decided to leave. You are a valued member of this family. Your leaving diminishes us. You are always welcome to come back. I hope you at least lurk and know that we will miss you!!

Hmmmm don't know about this, was the weather changing for the last couple of days or what? I know its been windy here and the winds give me headaches but haven't felt up to checking the weather anywhere since the beginning of the weekend. Hope that fur is being unruffled, fluffy thoughts being restored or something.
Petpntr, you have been a joy to talk to, you have such a wealth of knowledge that you willingly share with everyone, I too hope you at least lurk if you have really decided to leave the TDK family.
Oh yeah, BTW I am not leaving, may not talk much when not feeling well but always lurking sometime during the day.

Why do we sometimes jump to the wrong conclusions and get snippy with other posters? We can't see body language on here. As people owned by cats, we all know how important body language is. We don't have that luxury here and neither do we make allowances for that sometimes.
Just a thought.
I'm here to stay, at times I may not post often but I'm here all the same. Call me stubborn or call me masochistic. :-)Posted 3 years ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

LOL, yup know what that's like. Didn't you also talk to Libby and Jasper? The hard part is getting a reply out of Shadz. She would usually give me one of her"oh goodness, the old girl's at it again" looks and tuck her eyes behind her tail and ignore me.

Shadz had hers around 5pm then goes out and chases crickets or mice. When she comes in she'll have milk and cookies and then sprawl and sleep for the night. When I go up to bed I pick up the sleepy thing and carry her up to the bed. HRH really suits her.

Don't know what you mean.
Now who do we know who has their cats knock on the window when they want to get inside and who then lets them in even if it's the middle of the night? Jog my memory.Posted 3 years ago by Moonshadow_NZ #
