  1. Good evening! Anyone here? *echo, echo, echo* Guess I'll turn the lights up a bit and do some cleaning. I see the agency kittens all sleeping in a muddle in the corner. So sweet!

Hubby and I went out to dinner with our neighbors and then to a performance by "The Blind Boys of Alabama." They have been performing for 70 years and they rocked the house!

  2. Ok, so I am lost here for a few mins or even longer....but then I haven't read much of the last few days' threads so let me try to figure out the happenings. So here and kinda not for a few minutes, with scratchy burning eyes and all.

  3. It's 1.15 am AZ time,....the night is a little cooler in NZ and definitely cold or at least chilly in USA with Old Man Winter being very comfortable.....and with no talking for the last little bit maybe its time to close Night Shift and snuggle under the comforters, so here goes gratis Moonshadow, LV, & Tigger who helped begin this long ago....good job everyone & bless you...if anyone comes in, scritches to the furry ones in the pile by the fireplace :D

    check - turns fountains off
check - sweep the floor (never know who has been tossing stuff around)
check - lights off and turns out neon "TDK Night-Shift" and "Poetry Jam" sign in window
check - night lights glowing gently, puts on cool jazz radio for ambiance and stragglers check - cat flaps swings creeeeeeeek (pulls out WD-40), check cat flaps again to ensure they swing quietly and effortlessly
check - doors closed, left just ajar so fuzzbutts don't come to us with complaints
check - dry kibble out as a midnight snack (so hopefully no 5 am breakfast wake-up call) and freshens litter-box. Puts away assorted fuzzy, squeaky cat-toys into Toy-Box

check - windows shut for Northern TDKers and flung open for Southern TDKers.

Goodnight to all our imaginary friends in TDK land, Goodnight Airy and Jim-man. White light, healing energy and prayer for all those in need. Thoughts with Little, Velvet and Wolfie who are unwell. Prayers and white energy out to Spike & Snowy, come home little ones your family is worried. And on a positive note, everyone hold hands when crossing streets, look both ways, etc....

  4. Yaaaaaawnnnnnnnnnnnn, Oh sorry, peeps into NS office to see if anyone is here. Hello, helloooo?, HELLOOOOOOO!
    Reading backposts. . . . . :-(

  5. Evening, MS, I am checking bibliographic refs -- riveting stuff -- and keeping half an eye on TDK as I do so. Show us that haircut, girl, is it cropped?

Posted 3 years ago by jcat #

  6. Not cropped but pretty short. It's nice and cool in this weather. It'll be it's usual thatch again in 4 weeks. My hairdresser loves me cos I let her experiment as it grows back so quickly. Shadz has just come inside for the night. I've been freezing cherry tomatoes, freeflow for winter dishes. Some of mine and some I bought.

    Posted 3 years ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  7. Yum, yum, that sounds so good, cherry tomatoes are my favourite kind, less of that pithy stuff in the middle. Your hair sounds great! Mine needs cutting again, don't know when I'll get it done though. Jasper has just eaten his dinner and SHOT in like the hounds of hell were after them. I expect that's his exercise for the night, lol.

  8. I left Shadz out for as long as she wanted cos with the rain that's coming she'll be in for some time. Was talking to KK a wee while ago and she had fun with a uniformed man in a black and white car with pretty red and blue lights on top, and blowing up bags. Passed fine though, not the end to a long day with 2 flights that she needed.

    Posted 3 years ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  9. Ooh, I like men in uniform, has KK finished with him yet?

Posted 3 years ago by jcat #

  10. Yup, she's home and I sent her off to bed after a long day in muggy Jafaland. My mans uniform is a baggy bum pair of green overalls, nice. Yeah, right! He rang this evening and said they may be home tomorrow on account of the coming weather. Just looking at it on radar and it's light rain in Jafaland now so give it a couple of hours and it should start raining here. I'm ready, cleared the drains of all the large magnolia leaves, picked my flowers and tomatoes and moved my pot plants against walls.

  11. My goodness you're industrious. I am feeling chipper right now because the people I edit for have informed me they have plenty more work for me when I've finished this lot -- vaguely reassuring in this climate when they're talking four-day weeks on the news...

Posted 3 years ago by jcat #

  12. That's great news Jcat, Airy has 5 hours of work, paying work, at the moment which is a good start but she needs a full time job. I was surprised to hear the four day week item on the news. Seems a little too hasty to me.

    Posted 3 years ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  13. Great news about Airy. Is that five hours a week or five hours a day (or just five hours, I hope not)! It's a good start, in any case, and will keep her off the streets, as they say. I was gobsmacked to hear it on the news but I think they'll pretty soon decide they can't afford it. I can't really see the govt offering to stump up for one day's paid holiday EVERY week...

Posted 3 years ago by jcat #

  14. :-( It's just 5 hours Jcat. It'll buy the groceries. I agree about with you about then not wanting to stump up. I'm really puzzled about where they are coming from though. It was so out of left field or should that be right field, I am wondering what else they will spring on us when this has died down as if it's a softening up. Guess I'll just have to wait and see.

    Posted 3 years ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  15. Oh, MS, sorry 'bout that but, as you say, it will buy the groceries and every little helps. It's such a tough time to be looking.

I do have a bit the feeling with this govt so far that what Emma says about Siamese cats could equally well apply to them -- every idea that comes into their heads comes out through their mouths -- EVERY SINGLE ONE.

Oops, was that unfluffy? Sorry. I'd better stop talking politics...

Posted 3 years ago by jcat #

  16. LMAO here, it's only us two(oh and any lurkers). Somehow I don't think John K reads TDK so you are safe unless that big ball place in Marlborough caught the post. LOL

    Posted 3 years ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  17. I wouldn't put it past them... *darkly*...

Posted 3 years ago by jcat #

  18. Bwahahahahahahahahah. You're a marked woman now, and probably me too, by association.

    Posted 3 years ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  19. P'raps we'd better both hide...

Posted 3 years ago by jcat #

  20. Do you think it would help? Nah, lets stay out in the open and dare them.

    Posted 3 years ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  21. OK, but custard pies at the ready...

Posted 3 years ago by jcat #

  22. Straps ice cream container onto each hip, fills with custard pies, squares shoulders, shuffles feet comfortably and waits with hands poised over pies. Side of mouth twitches slightly. . . .
Noise to the right, heads whips to the right and eyes widen. . .
There's Jcat, pies strapped to her waist, dribbling custard into pools at her feet. LOL LOL LOL.
Um Jcat, put the pies in a container, it saves on the laundry.

    Posted 3 years ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  23. NOW she tells me.

Grabs automatic clay pigeon shooting thing, straps to front, loads with custard pies and gets ready to aim at anything unnerving coming through the NS door. Since this involves lying on tummy on the floor, it's quite a task... Hmmm, a rocket launcher would have been better but they don't make those to fit custard pies...

Posted 3 years ago by jcat #

  24. Jcat, if you let rip with the clay pigeon launcher while lying on it you'll only launch yourself across the NS office. That may not be the action you really want. Somehow I think that we are way too small potatoes for 'you know who' to worry about so lets toss the hardware and go and eat the ammo. Got any whipped cream?
    PULL!

    Posted 3 years ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  25. I never travel without whipped cream, MS. But the chocolate sprinkles are in my other coat pocket....

Posted 3 years ago by jcat #

  26. Shades of Bugsy Malone and the shoot out at Fat Sam's Speakeasy!!!!!!!

    Posted 3 years ago by Pollys_Mum_in_UK_2605 #

  27. C'mon on in, Polly's Mum, if you dare. But there's a hail of chocolate buttons coming at ya and we might just pump you full of whipped cream...

Posted 3 years ago by jcat #

  28. If they are Cadbury's chocolate buttons, count me in!

    Posted 3 years ago by Pollys_Mum_in_UK_2605 #

  29. I've got Hundreds and Thousands here Jcat. You pump and I'll sprinkle.

    Posted 3 years ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  30. That sounds vaguely indecent, MS...

We wouldn't have any other kind, Polly's Mum...
