   Thanks for posting this Dee. I heard Socks was 19-20 years old.
   I had no idea cats could get THAT old. Poor dear, I'm glad he's
   suffering no longer.

   I would love to see a photo of him riding on president Clinton's
   shoulder...

   I was very sad to hear about Socks. Our cat we had when I grew up lived to 21. May everyone here be Blessed with the love of their cat for a very long time before they are called over the Bridge. Bless you Socks!

   I lost my Juliet two weeks after her 19th birthday...in August 2005. She played like a kitten until the last few months.

   just had to say, that president clinton was very protective of socks when he was campaigning. he used to tell reporters that they could not harass or interfer with socks travels on the grounds of the governors mansion and he meant it. also, when he was elected president, i remember ordering an official portrait of socks, which i still have, showing him posed in front of the white house. i had a black and white kitty at that same time myself, his name was archie. he too died of cancer, at age 11 years. archie was my very first kitty and was a very reserved and dignified little gentleman. i have a special fondness for tuxies. socks my little friend, rip. bobby
