  1. Does anyone here have AT&T Uverse for their TV service? We have TWCable and have been having big problems with service. We can have AT&T Uverse, but I don't know much about the service..... anyone??

  2. My sister has it and loves it. I can't tell you a WHOLE lot about it except it's worlds better than Comcast (who took over our TW) according to her. I'm thinking about getting rid of Comcast and getting Uverse. She hasn't had ANY trouble with them at all and she's had it for over a year. It's cheaper too.

  3. AT&T is the company that I had issues with a few months ago. I'm not sure if you were around, but I'm sure a few of you guys remember. I'll be switching to something new next month when my contract is up.

  4. I haven't been too happy with Comcast. I pay extra for HD channels and they seem to think I want to pay for the 4-5 extra sport channels that come in the package. I wish they would take them out and lump them into a sport HD package. Sheesh!

  5. Our landlord won't allow our apartments to have either cable or satellite (BOO!) so we just have 100's of DVDs and watch a lot of Hulu and Joost on the computer. It is amazing how many new shows and movies you can get on those--but of course, it is only on a small computer scree and not as much fun as watching a big TV in bed, all comfy! Is Uverse cable?

  6. My sister too, switched her Comcast for AT & T. She loves the AT & T as well as pays less for it than what she paid for Comcast. I, too, like SMM have Comcast and have a bundle that has a bunch of goofy channels that I don't want nor watch. I went to my sisters and spent the night and hardly slept! I spent the night watching her AT & T tv. It was fabulous, so many channels and a lot of VARIETY! She had almost 250 channels and pays less than I pay for 60 channels of ComCast. Plus mine is only on the TV in the living room, she gets a box for every TV in the house.

In CA landlords are not allowed to forbid tenants to have satellite dishes. There are rules that have to be followed about where the dish can be attached, but it can't be forbidden. If it's important to you to have satellite, it might be worth checking your local rental's help group.

Of course, with all the trash on TV now you may not want to watch it. My local library has lots of DVD's for loan - I suspect yours does too.

some TV 's can be hooked up to your computer with either composit , S-video or some even have a PC hook up .The picture settings may need to be tweaked but it can be done.

  9. I think ours does have a PC hookup,RIA, some to think of it. I've never known how to use it, and Victor is even less mechanical than I. But I guess I could read the instruction manual.... ;-)
I've checked into the legality of not being allowed cable or satellite,CBM-she has us under an obscure law, but what she is doing is legal.

  10. Yes read the manual , you will also need a audio cable [mp3 sound cable can be used in some applications ], the TV may need to be set to[ pc imput or some thing similar] through your set up page

  11. My PC comes with vga[pc] hook up, S-video [vcr- tv] ,and HDTV connection .Some may even have I think a composite [red ,white, and yellow] connection or a coaxial [tv cable ] connection just need to look before you run out and buy

  12. All I can say about Uverse is that my hub would NEVER switch to anything without checking out all the other competitors of such. Switched(to Uverse) several months ago. It's been great so far. Much better than Dish......... that pooped out every time it rained!!

  13. Hey all, i am new to the chat here. I work for at&t as a senior uverse service rep. we have direct tv in one break roo and uverse in another...as cable is the only option at home, I have compared all of the services against each other. the Uverse picture quality is far superior to that of cable and the reliability is better than any dish. Personally I dont recommend the UVOICE service unless you have a cell for backup, it's not a bad service and its much cheaper than landline service, but upon installation, a few people have been without phone for a day or two. Not recommended for the elderly or the handicapped as it goes to a 4 hour battery backup in case of a power outage, like the one columbus oh experienced for 8 days last year. The pricing usually beats cable, but as we all know at&t is not a cheap company. It pays us well and provides us with world class health benefits is part of it. The uverse high speed internet is quite fast with few exceptions, reliable too. The dvr can play back the recording on any tv in the house, it is truly amazing technology. If you have any additional ?'s feel free to email me rs6981@att.com my name is robin....thanks for the forum guys, this is an amazing website.
