I know that the fund has money to send out to all our friends who may need help for our furbabies. I think this is a good time to see what money is available and how much we have in the fund for future reference should someone need our help. This should be updated from time to time so our members know how much has been contributed and is being sent out.

Hey Thanks for bringing this thread up! I think this is very important to mention!
As the TDk we all donate what we can when and where we can! I think it would be nice to have monthly statements reporting funds available and funds used and when and why! This way as a site we can manage to help as many as we can! I think that the treasurer and co/assistant treasurer should be updating us monthly and I personally would like to see a scanned statement copy without the account number and such! Times are so hard for everyone we need ot make sure the money we have is used wisely to help the most members we can!

Once upon a time there was mention that we would have posted account updates. It was done several months ago and then nothing. I have wondered if there is anyting going into the fund. I have to admit my daughter has discussed doing another fundraiser for the profit to go to the fund, but I am reluctant. Partially because I don't know much about the fund. I had suggested a direct donation to Chester's Place. The TDK people that manage this fund are wonderful and caring people with very hectic lives so maybe a monthly statement is a lot. What about a quarterly statement of some sort. I have a feeling that would at least be easier to manage.

I am on the committee. I have only seen 2 helps go out with the fund in the last 6 months. small amounts both of them, and to long time tdkers, who did not ask for help, but others asking in their behalf. I think the economy is affecting our fund, as well as all our members.

She was sick MerD. That is one reason why I have thought quarterly reports might be better. There isn't that much going on that can't go into a quarterly report. Then again I am not a money person and maybe a monthly report would be easier. Terri was on last weekend I thought and was sick. Then again I could be off with the time on that too. Shoot I might as well give up before I don't know my own name!

I love that there is a TDK fund to help members who may be in need. I have to admit I've not been in a position to contribute to the fund but hope to in the future. I don't think I can say one way or the other how the fund should be handled but if I HAD contributed to the fund I don't think I'd need to know so much about who it helped necessarily but I think I'd like to know if the funds accumulated were adequate so that I could add other contributions when extra funds were available to do so. The report, as I would want to see it could simply state funds available at the beginning of ... say...the quarter...a list of expenditures i.e., blood work for fluffy...$75.00. Food supplements for Slick...$42.00, etc. along with contributions made as well. Recipient's names don't need to be included in my opinion. To do so may cause pain and embarrassment. I can't say for knowing but guess that these days the fund may be somewhat lacking as so many people are in a position of financial struggle, but if we did know the balance it could show us all that through small donations by many...it could be built up to an amount that can do substantial good. I absolutely understand that people who are contributing have a right to know what the situation is on a regular basis. =)

Hi! If there is a fund who is in charge? I would very much like to send them a donation! Please let me know. I know there are peeps on our site who right now are without a job and might not take their kits in for care due to cost. I would NEVER want that to happen. I want to help. Please let me know what I can do to help the others who are in need. I think this is an awesome thread. All of us need each other, especially during these tough times. I don't have a lot to give but I think any amount would certainly help others.

I too, would like to contribute. It may not be much right now, but with each property I sell, I can send some! There are many out there that need it, and I support Lynn's request - if those that contribute want a monthly accounting, it could be a simple form posted for those that want to view it. KM might even give you a place, like the book club. I don't think account numbers need to be -shown, but a simple balance sheet - showing beginning balance, disbursements, contributions and ending balance would be nice. Those that wish to remain anonamyous could do so upon request. If any member feels they want more indept information, they could contact the treasure directly. I trust that our committee is made of smart, caring people, who diligently assess the needs, and fairly disburse assistance - and do so out of the kindness of their hearts. TDK is a loving place, with smart caring people, and I thank this committee for it's time and contribution of effort in making these funds available.

I'm on the committee, too, and I just recently asked Terri for a report. I hope that she is able to give us one soon.As for giving to the fund, just e-mail Terri and she'll give you the e-mail address for her Paypal account, which is where the money is sent. Every single dollar counts!!

Terri aka BCAM!!! She is one of the original members. Her and many of the begining group turned this site into on big caring family. She has been under the weather and very busy with a new job.. But today is her Birthday..you can check out her birthday thread and click on her avatar and meet her furr family.
