  1. Happy birthday, Terri!

On the subject of height, I was the tallest person in my grade (including the boys) by the 5th grade, but then lots of people caught up over the years, thank goodness.

About cat's names, George was George when we got him, and we decided to keep it because it just seemed to suit him. Hubby's relatives think it's funny, because that was his dad's name, and his older brother's, and one of his nephews. None of those people are with us anymore, so it's kind of nice that we still have a George.

I'm getting excited about the crossword tournament (like I wasn't already?), but wouldn't you know I woke up this morning with the beginnings of one of my evil headaches (no! boooo!). Trying to ignore it.

Hope everyone has a good Friday. I'm off to the newsroom, will check back in a bit.

  10. Good morning everyone, I sure hope all went well with Rocky and his first night with his new family. It kinda worries me though that HOB hasn't posted anything yet. She may have stayed up all night though just spending time with her new baby. I know for a fact he would love it if she just sat and held him all night.:)

  11. Hi to all who have stopped in since my last post - it's bustling around the cafe today; so much exciting stuff going on!
Thanks KY, that cheesecake recipe looks delish! I will try it when I get my new oven :)
Knock 'em dead, Kilroy! (and that headache too) My Mom and a friend of hers do the same crossword puzzle that is in the daily paper. After they have gone as far as they can, they either get together and trade them and keep working on them, or go over them on the phone.

  12. Hubby and I do something similar with the Saturday and Sunday New York Times puzzles; we photocopy them so we can work on them separately and then team up if we get stuck. We make a good team because of the difference in our ages; he recognizes things I've never heard of and vice versa. He's way more up to date with current music than I am, though! My musical knowledge stops dead in about 1988 :)

  19. Good morning all. Well, everyone is back from their big conference off in another state. It is business as usual. I am in a bad mood and feeling sort of depressed this morning due to a number of issues. Trying to shake it off but it won't lift. I sent my note to my property manager this morning and will see if I have a place to come home to tonight. She may be angry with me and tell me I have to move or she may just ignore me like she does sometimes. This is more stress I brought upon myself that I don't need. I have even started looking at the listings for another apartment but there are so many that do not allow pets. There are very few that are decent and allow pets too. So my home is only a home because my two cats are there. I really need a change and even applied for a job for an executive assistant position up in the wine country area but am sure that there will be someone more qualified as there are a lot of unemployed out there (no drinking wine doesn't qualify enough).

  20. {{{SMM}}} You've always been there for me. You are a good person. I hope the depression & blues lift away from you soon and your worries dissapate.

Posted 3 years ago by JoanfromNewJersey #

  21. SMM, hang in there. Sending hugs and positive thoughts to you!

    Posted 3 years ago by mollycat71 #

  22. {{{{{{{SMM}}}}}}}} I'm sure that you are every bit as qualified as anyone else for that job. Maybe you need to leave California!

Posted 3 years ago by WillowandWindismom #

  23. I agree, WWM on the fact that maybe I need to leave California. I played with the idea of moving up to Portland, Oregon area. Problem is trying to find a job before one moves doesn't seem to work. They rather you live in the area first and try to find a job. Another issue is having the money to move which I don't have right now. I think I would have to ask my great aunt if she would help pay for me to move but I don't want to ask as she helped pay for me to move out of place I had with ex. I am still paying her back for that. I still haven't even won one dollar on the lottery. Hmm..need to re-think things.

Posted 3 years ago by SylMiaFelixsMomma #

  24. SMM, sounds like things are rough for you right now. Sending extra prayers your way. Doesn't it feel like when it rains it pours? Is there anything us TDK'ers can do to help?

    Posted 3 years ago by mollycat71 #

  25. Thanks MC but unless anyone can help me win huge on the lottery I think just the support, suggestions and of course most of all the hugs help a bit. I brought this all upon myself and I have to figure out how to fix it.

Posted 3 years ago by SylMiaFelixsMomma #

  26. Sending good thoughts your way, SMM!

Posted 3 years ago by katthays #

  27. (((SMM)))

Posted 3 years ago by cricketsmama #

  28. Well of course we can send all the hugs and prayers and love and support you can ever want and/or need. If I get a heads up on the lottery numbers, I will let you be the first to know. :D
