Nibs, Nora and Gem have been taking their afternoon naps (they have a feeling that is where Velvet and Spice are too) and are now ready to rejoin the party. They are very excited to meet Rocky. They have been hearing Mom talk about him alot lately.

Stubby hears the word party, Tigger says come on Stubby we have to finish our preparations for Daddy coming home tomorrow then we can get Izzy and Spike and head over to the party. They work furiously completing the necessary tasks, do a little primping, gather some catnip mice and head for the wormhole. Izzy and Spike lazily follow their sisters. Momma says behave yourselves and do not overstay your welcome, as I have to get back to the hospital to see Daddy.

The girls head over to Betty and Wilma. "Hello, we are glad to meet you. We live in Michigan, not very far away from you. Mom says that you live in a big city called Chicago. Nibs and Nora had a big sister named RT, who was also a barn kitten before she came to live with Mom. We think your gray fur is lovely!"
Nora is eyeing the food table. Nibs is wondering if there might be some fresh greens that she could nibble on. Gem wants to go out and mingle.

Grommie, ever the little (although these days not so little in size, mind you) flirt, sashays over to introduce herself to Nathaniel. On the way past the refreshment table, she greets Stubby, Tigger, Izzy and Spike. "Nice to see y'all again", she drawls in her best immitation of an alluring purrr... She finds Nathaniel by the 'nip sodas, but without one yet. She quickly grabs two bottles and walks up, "Hi, I'm Grommet, I don't think we've met yet. My brother is that big guy over there working the music. His name is MacKenzie but most of us just call him Mac. If you can find a bottle opener, I've got some 'nip sodas for us," she purrs.

"Hi Nibs and Nora! How are you? Nice to meet you, our Auntie Cheri used to live in Michigan, not sure if you know the town but your meowmy probably does. She lived in Holland MI. She used to work for Kmart but now she works for Kohl's. So nice to meet you! Let's get some yummies!"

Just then she spots Velvet and Spice! While she'd like to chat with Nathaniel, she's more anxious to see the girls again, so.... "Nathaniel, Velvet and Spice are back!! C'mon, lets go see them, I'll introduce you, if you haven't met them yet. It's been so long since I've seen them, I can't wait to visit!!" She grabs his paw and almost drags him across the room...
(so much for the flirting..) "VELVET, SPICE!!! YOU'RE HOME AGAIN!! I'm so glad to see you two!! She gives them both a big kitty hug, headbonks and purrs ~ she's practically quivering with joy! "I've missed you two soooo much, let me look at you," she steps back and purrs, "Of course, you're both just as lovely as always. How have you been? I'll bet you're very glad to be home again with Cheri." She leans over and whispers, "I've picked out some very special satin bows for both of you; they're over there on the table wrapped in the square boxes. Velvet, Mac is especially anxious to see you again; he has that picture of the two of you from last year's skating party right next to his bed." -

"Betty, do you think that Bobby and Milo are gonna make it? They are SO cute and they make a nice set of brothers for us sisters?! I think we need to go get in the middle of the headbonks and hugs too! That Grommie sure is fun! Maybe she could help us with Bobby and Milo!"

Just then, Mac spots the group gathering around the guests of honor. His little kitty heart skips a beat when he sees Velvet for the first time.... Regaining his composure, he licks his paw, smooths his muzzle and whiskers, assumes his best "George Clooney" attitude and strolls over. "Spice, Velvet," he purrs, "how wonderful it is to see you two again. It's been tooooo long." He nuzzles and headbonks both girls, and descreetly gives Velvet a wink. He listens to the other kitties greeting the girls and chatting for a minute or two, then, "Velvet, would you do me the honor of having a dance with me?" Mavvy, watching the goings on from over at the CD player, quickly puts on a George Strait waltz ~ "You Look So Good In Love" starts playing and Mac offers Velvet his paw as he leads her to the center of the room..... The rest of the kitties move to the sides of the floor to give the couple some room as MacKenzie and Velvet twirl around in a perfect imitation of the best of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers..... Some of the kitties start clapping floofy paws in appreciation...

Grommie strolls over to Betty and Wilma for a little cat-chat. "Hi! It's great to see you two again. How are you? Isn't this a great party? It's too bad Bobby and Milo aren't here. I think their meowma is very busy with her tennis tournament today. And they were at the DC/VA TDK meet-up yesterday, so maybe she wanted them to stay home today. Our meowma was so busy reading that "Dewey" book this morning (Grommie makes a little 'cat face' and sticks out her tongue) we almost didn't make the party either. And she didn't have time to ask GD if we could pick up the boys, either." What do you think of Sterling, oops, I mean Rocky" she corrects herself, " and Nathaniel?" I've just met him, and I think he's very handsome." "Mac and Velvet have had enough time on the dance floor alone, what do you say we go ask some of the boys to dance with us before the music stops?"

"Yes, let's get those boys out there! We are all pretty, we can look just as good as they did! Watch out boys here we come!"

Mavvy, itching to dance with some of the ladies, too, switched the music to a peppy little two-step number, and heads over to a group of the ladies. Ever, the gentleman and not to be outdone by Mac, he steps over to pretty Spice, "May I have this dance, m'lady?" he asks gallantly and extends his paw. Spice blushes a bit at first, then, "with pleasure, sir!" They head to the middle of the room for a little "center stage" performance of the two-step, Texas cat style, to the delight of the onlookers! More floofy paw clapping, and a few 'cat whistles' are heard as Mavvy and Spice "get into the music!?

After a few minutes in the spotlight for Spice and Mavvy, Grommie, Betty and Wilma swish their tails and head to a group of the boys. Each selects a partner, and heads to the floor for the Texas cat two step! Grommie and Nathaniel, Betty and Huddy, and Rocky and Wilma pick up the beat and twirl around the floor with Mavvy and Spice, laughing and chatting together as they dance!

So good to see my girls doing a little Texas cat two step, they have been practicing with their DVD's at home! They look so good together! Rocky is really coming out of his shell!

Kittymom arrives to check up on her two kits, and to visit with Cheri "in person".
Cheri, I'm so glad you're feeling better now and you have your girls back with you. {{{CHERI}}} I wish there was a kitty parent here on TDK who was well-versed in the Photoshop program. They could probably 'shop a picture of Velvet and MacKenzie IRL, and we could post it here.... Same with some of the other kitties 'together in TDK cyberspace.' I wonder if Elizabeth (Cato's meowma)knows how to do it?? Maybe one of the other TDKers? Oh, well, just a thought. Regardless, Cheri, I'm glad you and your kitties are back, both IRL and on TDK ;-)

NNGM checking back in, calling the girls home. Night time, my cold gets worse and I need to relax a bit and go to bed early. I'm so happy for you, Cheri - in your new place with your girls back again. I also want to give another shoutout to Deb, who was so wonderful to step in when Velvet and Spice needed her. I hope everything settles down and everyone gets comfortable in their new "digs".
We will leave the party to the youngsters - be good, everyone! Nibs, Nora and Gem WHOOSH back out through the wormhole. 'Night, All.

Lady Coco uncurls from a corner where she's been enjoying a "chins up" nap and stretches elegantly. The party is still going, but did Mom forget to call her home? Mom's writing another big report and couldn't come to the party except in spirit. "Sorry, sweetie, that's what keeps Mom in chocolate and you in Greenies. It's gotta be done now." A bright spot appears on the wall, a cathole opening and a two-tone whistle slips through. "Come on home, little girl. Tuna tonight." Lady Coco makes the rounds, saying good night and telling Velvet and Spice that she's sure they'll like their new place as soon as they settle in. Then, fliip, into the cat hole and home.
Hope the revelers don't leave too many crumbs on the floor and remember to recycle those 'nip soda bottles.

Grommie gives Lady Coco a quick hug ~ and purrs quietly in her ear, "I know you have to leave now, sweetie, but, you and I need to talk later, we have a lot in common! Plus, my purrday is this month, and I'm trying to convince Kittymom to let me have a "TDK girls sleepover"! You'll love getting together with all the girls, young and 'not so young' as much as I do! We'll keep in touch.." Whoosh ~ Lady Coco is off home with a quick wink and headbonk to Grommet.....
