i am very on alert whenever i am opening or entering the basement area, but as you know kitties can be very fast. i can secure an inside door in the basement, but i have to do a bit of rearranging of "stuff" :) that is in the way for the door to close securely. i am a big procrastinator.

Evening Jcat. I'm here on my own again, Mr MS is out at sea taking part in a fishing tournament while the weather is fine. Shadz beat him to get the best catch though, I heard meowing about an hour ago and upon opening the door I find a wee dead mouse on the mat. I let Shadz and her trophy inside and after lots of stroking and making a fuss of her she eats the mouse, followed by a Fancy Feast chaser and heads on out to go hunting again. How has your day been? wet or dry. We had a very hot day then a heavy fall of rain, my washing is still out as it got wet again.

I'm glad Mr MS is making the most of the calm weather, they're forecasting more rain after tomorrow. I am trying to make the most of my new washing line but it doesn't look like I'll have much chance this weekend. I hope we get a warm, settled autumn!
It was rainy then overcast here all day. I didn't get outside for a minute -- my employers sent me an urgent paper to do so I put my little head down and my backside up at the computer today and hardly surfaced at all. It will be the same tomorrow, sigh, but I feel happier when I think of the money, lol...

JCAT, it is frustrating plus the keyboard is being even wonkier tonight...either it types a lot of characters or you have to pound on it to ge the keys to work....and I touch type so its extra annoying....
MS, wishing Mr. MS good luck with the tourney.....HRH is a good huntress!!
It was windy as heck here today, probably contributing to my bad mood lately...hate that type of weather

It has been a very long time since HRH has had a mouse(I think), Jcat she doesn't waste anything of the mouse and she slurps the guts up like spaghetti, all without leaving a mark on the carpet. I might be leaving early tonight too, it's been a long day helping get everything ready for the tournament. Just hoping the bad weather doesn't arrive too soon as it will force them back into port. At least they are in cell phone contact and VHF marine radio this time.

HRH truly does have royal manners, tee hee. Good that they're in radio contact, must always be a bit worrying if they are not. Does this mean you will have more icky fishing gear to wash ;-)
They briefly showed pix of the snowstorm in the US on the news, Deb. I'm glad you're not getting any of that but I hope all our other TDKers in its way are safe and warm and not venturing outside or into traffic -- there looked to be a lot of nasty car accidents.

I saw the first series, Deb, had to hire it on DVD as it showed here on a channel I can't get. (Reception here in the 'Rapa is not good, I can only get two channels well and one not so well, and the rest I can't get at all.)
I loved it but then of course it is about two Wellington boys! (Well, actually, Jermaine Clement is a Wairarapa lad, he went to the college up the road from me.) Have you seen it? They're certainly very Kiwi (but hopefully we're not quite always that dim...) I love the song parodies, I think they're very funny.
I saw a TV reality programme set in Budapest on Saturday, it looked like the most beautiful unspoilt Art Nouveau city. I immediately wanted to move there...

I couldn't get any pic on that link Deb, just the Live Search page. I've watched The Flight of the Conchords, they are an acquired taste that I acquired and yes they are funny especially their songs and lyrics. They have been nominated several times for awards(Emmys and MTV I think) but so far no prize. Jcat, if they catch some fish then I'll probably have icky fishing gear to wash but it will mean that I get to eat yummy fresh fish too. I smoked a large kahawai last night and added Earl Grey tea leaves to the manuka chips, couldn't notice any tea flavour so will try more tea leaves next time.

Yay! Season One is apparently the best, they were working on those songs and doing live performance for a long time in NZ before they got their big break. I like the robot song best, I think it's gorgeous. Business Time is pretty good too... But one of the main characters, Murray, he's totally hilarious but he makes me cringe, he's so much like people you've met in real life... :) But he has a good heart...
