  1. The tennis thing seems to be what you are meant for GD! Been watching on the sly and glad you are getting some more sleep! I hope that the you may have another job that might work out for you. I wish you the best of luck and hope you have good news about that soon.

We are ok, Dakoda is doing fine. Laughs alot and is very active. We love having her here. Thanks for asking.

  2. Hi, Linda, Lynn, AV, CM, Bobbi and GD!

Wow, GD, that would be wonderful if you got a job with the former transportation coordinator. You have a great love for tennis in common. Does she have a tennis club and plan to open another or some kind of fitness club?

Bobbi, nicely done in getting Rocky from Scarver to HM. What a happy ending. :)

CM, I'm sorry your niece got hurt in the accident today. What a close call for her! I'm praying that Abbie and Maddie will let you sleep soundly tonight.

I've been thinking about you, Lynn. I hope you and Kay are OK. Did you get hit with much snow?

  7. Goodnight, AV. Enjoy Top Chef. :)

Hi, Bobby! Don't be embarassed. I've done the same thing myself. lol

I hope you and Kay and the kits are keeping warm, Lynn. You got some insulation put in last year, didn't you?

  8. Poochi, why are your hanging your head in shame?? It is 3-4-09. My sister turned 50 today, I am older so chuckling about that! Did I miss something?

  9. my troops are all quiet this evening (better not say that too loud) and the house is kind of toasty warm. great night for reading.

  10. Yea, KW, we had new siding and a bit more insulation put in with it. It seems to have kept us a bit warmer this year. Thank God that we will see the benefits in the next couple of years.

  14. hi lynn
congrats to your sister. last night i started a thread titled "really late nightshift 3-04-09" - the wrong date. i panicked and no one was around for me to ask if it could be corrected. kw saw the post a little later in the evening and gave me a solution should something like that ever happen again. my face is still red. hope you are doing well lynn, we both got hit with that snowstorm monday.

  15. Wow, KW really!! I send my best wishes to your mama and hope she had a wonderful day! God bless her long life. She must be a hoot if she is anything like you! And what did you get your dear Mama if I may ask?

Posted 2 years ago by Lynn from PA 6/8 #

  16. thanks lynn, you are basically a mind reader, that is how it is in my house during the winter months. my house is well over 100 years old and there are drafty spots here and there. can't do to much about it at this point, finances are in the way!

  17. I have Digit laying on my right arm as I try to type on my laptop. She has a very quiet purr. I can feel her little motor going. It is a lovely feeling. :)

  18. It's ok Poochi, we all have our moments!! Not to worry, everyone responded anyway. Kinda makes you wonder, do we really see the dates or just the word, Nightshift!! I am well, thanks for asking. I think you are in NY, forgive me if I am wrong, I don't always remember where everyone is at. I hope you made out well in the storm. I would like this to be over and bring on spring!!

  19. Well, my Mom has everything she will ever need or want. She is a great catalog shopper! She recently decided to start Weight Watchers so I bought her a set of serving utensils that double as measuring cups to help her figure out what a serving size looks like. We celebrated early (last Saturday) so she had all but one of her six kids there and several grandchildren. I think she enjoyed herself.

  20. KW, babies purring and snuggling up is the best! Poochi, I have a mobile home and we did what we had to do. You having an older home, I understand the upkeep that comes with them and the finaces to do it. I send you my virtual blanket to keep you and yours warm til the time comes when you no longer need it. I understand. My thoughts and prayers will try to keep you warm.

  21. kw - sorry i didn't see your post. i coincidentialy bought the book several months back, long befor there was mention of a book club. to be perfectly honest, i only read about half of it, somehow i lost interest. i will try and find my copy and give it another try. the problem is i am a voracious reader, going through 2 to 3 books a week, well anyway, i used to do that, now it's only a few a month. finances play a big role. we have an excellent library system here in queens, but i am spoiled and i like to own the book. if i find the copy, i will read it and participate in the discussion. finding it may be a slight challenge, i have 100's of books and they are all over the place. i think if i hired hazel to help, she would quit in 10 minutes! bobby

  22. That sounds wonderful, KW, and since you are on your own weight loss plan, how are you doing with that. I hope that both of you are doing well!

I am glad her grandchildren were around. I am sure it meant the world to her.

Posted 2 years ago by Lynn from PA 6/8 #

  23. oh kw - congrats to your mom on her birthday.

  24. I've lost 54 pounds, Lynn, and am now a lifetime member of Weight Watchers. That means I've reached my goal weight and now just want to maintain it. :)

Bobby, have you ever thought of going through your books a few at a time and taking those you will never read again to a second hand bookstore? You can get cash or store credit for them and then get more books!

Posted 2 years ago by Kitten Whisperer #

  25. Poochi, it just came to me with your last post. If some of us have books that other may like to read, is there a way we could swap them. Kay gets books from her daughter in law's mom that she reads. Some hardback and some paperback. I sell them at the flea markets for .50 for hardbacks and .25 for paperbacks. But if members would like them, I would much rather share than try to sell them. What do you think?

Posted 2 years ago by Lynn from PA 6/8 #

  26. thanks lynn for the well wishes. yes,i am in n.y.c., queens county and i cannot wait till spring gets here and the winter fuel bills go away!

    Posted 2 years ago by poochi7 #

  27. Thanks, Bobby. My Mom is a very strong woman. She grew up during the depression dirt poor. Her father died of blood poisoning when my Mom was in her teens. Her mother, my grandmother, had nine children. Three died from smoke inhalation at a very young age and she raised the other six as a single mother. I have the greatest respect for my Mom and grandmother!

  28. Great minds think alike, Lynn! lol

Posted 2 years ago by Kitten Whisperer #

  29. Way to go Girlfriend!!!!!!!!!! I am so proud of you! So that means there is less of you to hug than the last time!! I know you will maintain it. Any woman who goes to Applebees and lays off the boneless wings, mozzeralla sticks and little burgers, will do just fine. BTW that's what I had!!! The lady had a chicken breast and brocolli! She did good! I know this was a big thing for you and so proud of your accomplishment. You rock!

Posted 2 years ago by Lynn from PA 6/8 #

  30. Thanks, Lynn. :) I feel so much better now that I am not carrying those extra pounds around!
