  1. Wow, KW, I didn't know. These are exceptional women that have been in your life. I know know where you get your strength.

Stay warm, Poochi, it will take a few days to get the warmth to you! Hopefully by the weekend, even if only a little bit.

  2. kw - that is a good idea, something i never thought of, and a nice way to raise a little money and cut down on the clutter. i will give that more thought. thanks for giving me the idea.

lynn, your idea is wonderful also, i would be more than happy to share my books. guess we would have to use the postal system for that..could that get to be expensive? let's keep the idea open, i would be more than pleased to share books that i have enjoyed. i am heavey into non fiction, biography, historical fiction, and recently have discovered a number of east indian authors that i very much enjoy reading. thanks for the suggestion. bobby

  3. Bobby, my daughter and her boyfriend lived in Queens for a year after growing up in Eugene, Oregon. They wanted to discover big city life. Daughter enjoyed it a lot more than her boyfriend. He was pretty miserable. They came back home after their year lease on their studio apartment was up. I didn't like having them so far away, but it was a great excuse to go visit. I spent a week in NYC with my son and another week in NYC with my hubby. I had a blast both times doing a lot of touristy things.

  4. Kw, so proud of you and glad you feel so much better,

Poochi, Yes the cost may be a bit of a problem due to the weight of the books, it would depend on who wants what and how much we can all spend to send them around, but something to keep in mind and visit it at a later date.

Glad I had your location right! Stay warm and safe.

  5. Kw, how's hubby doing and his family here in PA?

Posted 2 years ago by Lynn from PA 6/8 #

  6. kw - there's no doubt about it, n.y.c. has a lot to offer and see. queens county is probably the biggest meltiung pot in the country. i believe if i'm not mistaken that there are about 100 different languages spoken throughout the county. i grew up in manhattan on the west side and when i graduated high school we first moved to brooklyn, and then a little over 40 years ago, to queens when my family bought a house.

  7. Hubby is doing fine, Lynn. He was asked to come back to work as an administrative law judge for the State of Oregon due to a growing backlog of cases that need to be heard. He decided he would accept the offer on a part time basis and then quit when he hits the limit after which money would be taken out of his Social Security check. This will keep him busier for a few months.

Hubby is going to visit his father in April. His father turned 92 last December and probably won't be traveling out this way again. Everyone is doing well. Thanks for asking!

  8. Are you living in the same family house your parents bought 40 years ago, Bobby?

Posted 2 years ago by Kitten Whisperer #

  9. thanks lynn, you and kay stay warm too. yes, let's keep the idea open, it's a very good one. costs maybe the only factor that may curtail it. bobby

  10. I am going to bed. I have another interview on Friday. The other 8 I had never panned out. I didn't know if it was me or just the fact that employers have a wider pool of possible employees to pick from. I think it may be the latter. I asked my now 50 year old sister! to help me with the interviewing process and I froze at almost every question. She's been doing this for alot of years. She gave me advice and I hope I do better this time. Any prayers for my interview are welcome!!

So as I sign off, I hope all our friends who are feeling poorly are well soon, those who have suffered loss, know that we feel your pain and wish you comfort, those who are a bit down, know that you are not alone. We are a family and we shall stay that way, through thick and thin. So as I head off, I wish you well,a warm home to live in, food in your bellies, the love of your furbabies and the strength to face tomorrow knowing that it will be a better day. My love is with you. And may the angels kiss you gently while you sleep. mama Lynn

  11. KW, so glad that he is doing well. Sounds good that he is keeping occupied helping out the judicial system! Don't blame him for cutting it off when need be. Glad his dad is doing ok. Any chance you are coming with him in April?

  12. Will do, Bobby, you do the same. If I have books anyone wants, I will see what I can do!

  13. Sadly, I'm not coming out with hubby on this trip, but I'm sure there will be future trips and I will hope to be able to participate in another TDK meetup in your neck of the woods!

Practising the interview skills with your sister is a great idea. I will keep you in my prayers for a great interview experience on Friday. Sleep well tonight, my friend!

  14. yes kw. actually it was my late sister and brother in law that bought the house. it was a small two family. my parents and younger brother before he got married lived in the upstairs apt., me too. my sister, bil and three children lived on the ground floor. when the children started to grow up, they needed more room, and they bought a house on long island. my younger brother and i then bought the house from my sister and bil. soon after my younger brother met the girl he was going to marry and i bought hius share of the house. that left my parents and myself in the house. they both died many years ago, that left me. and then my doggies and kitties and birdies all came to live with me over the last 20 years or more. my younger brother and his family family live on long island. my sister and brother in law died within 10 months of each other a little over two years ago. my older brother died right in the middle of their passings. that only leaves me with my younger brother, sil, nieces and nephews, who are all on long island. not too far, i have a car, but not right next door either. that period of time when i had three deaths in my family, has been very difficult for me at times to deal with. my pets have been an extraordinary comfort to me. sorry this is so long, once i get started, i can't seem to stop telling my woes :) i am doing as well as i can, but there is a big hole in my life. my sister was my closest friend and i miss her something terrible at times. bobby

  15. Oh, crap, KW, but glad hubby will be home to see his dad. thanks for the well wishes. I'll let you know how I make out. I hope you come back soon too. Thanks for the support and it was good to see you tonight. Been a long time. You sleep well also. Love to hubby and you as well. Mama out.

  16. I'm so sorry that you've lost so many close family members, Bobby. I haven't had to face that yet, but I know my parents are becoming more physically fragile. You have a lot of history in the home you live in with your furry family. I'm glad you have so many furbabies to provide you with comfort and companionship.

  17. It has been nice chatting with you, Lynn. Take good care of yourself. My love to you and Kay. :)

  18. Bobby, you have had alot to deal with over the last couple of years, and I feel your pain. You may talk about them, you are among friends. I can only imagine what you have been through. You have my support and friendship and my admiration for your strength. Know that you can talk freely here, we care and are here to give you support any time you feel the need.

Now it is after 11pm and I have a little one coming at 7:30 to make me realize just how old I am!! Sleep well, Bobby and KW, see you soon. The angels are watching over you and sending me to bed!

  23. Peeks in the room, just as I thought all the kits are snuggled up and lightly snoring, you can see that they are comfortable by their bellies softly rising with each breath. Lurking for a bit, will check back in a little bit.

  24. *Gently walks into NS office, scritching little kitties on the head as I pass. They chirp and stretch drowsily and then go back to sleep.* Evening, Deb, we will be missing MS tonight. I just finished my urgent paper, yay, now back to the non-urgent ones :-) Will be popping in and out for a bit, while doing chores...

Hope your head is better tonight, Deb!

  25. Evening jcat, yay on being back to the non-urgent ones...figure I am almost half-way thru my shift and hope that the rest of it passes quickly....will surely miss MS :( Head was better, now stuffy again, pollen is in the air.

  26. Hi, Deb, that's no good, that's the horrible bit of spring that I always forget is coming... terrible sinuses! Hope you feel better soon...

I am in the middle of doing several days' worth of washing up in the kitchen and I didn't even cook the last three days! Where does it all come from? I think the cats have been experimenting while I was at the computer screen, lol.

Back again in a bit (lo, I hear the bubbling dish water calling...) Yay for being almost halfway through your shift!

Posted 2 years ago by jcat #

  27. lOL, I ask the same thing, the dishes pile up and most of them are the kitties food dishes...thank goodness for the dishwasher...

Yeah Spring is a terrible thing when it comes to allergies, unfortunately mine are all year round...
