  1. Hi everyone. My kitten is 7months old and has been spayed now about a month and a half. These pass 2 days, she is just meowingggg, running from door to door and howling. She ran out last night and i had to chase her. What could be the issue?

  2. She might be lonely. Does she have any other company during her day?

  3. Snowy is so pretty, she is really growing isn't she? I remember when you first posted about her she was so tiny! My bet is she is lonely and needs a playmate.

  4. It is just her. When I get home, we play...trust me, i get my daily exercise with her lol. She has never been like this ( i had her since she was 6wks old) unless she was in heat. But that is fixed, so i dont know.

  5. she is getting big...when i first got her, she was all white...hence the name snow white. Now, her tail is partially black, around her ears are black, the ears themselves are orange, she has black and orange random marks on her face, an orange line down her back...whew...she looks different

  6. Do you have current photos of her, SN?

I don't know what to make of the meowing. Is she trying to get outside or are these interior doors that she is running to? Have there been any recent changes in food, litter, environment or your schedule?

  7. I know it says Snowy has been spayed, but it sure sounds like she's in heat. Sometimes the vet leaves a little bit of ovary behind and that's enough to make her act like that.

  8. She is running to the patio door and the front door to get out. I do have recent pictures on catster. http://www.catster.com/cats/893777

  9. You might want to take her back to the vet and explain what's going on with them, they might have left a bit of the ovary behind as Cheetahboysmommy said. Poor baby sounds like she is having a hard time lately, if she keeps trying to run out the door maybe you could try some of the methods others have for teaching her to stay away from the door (like making noise to scare her away from the door when you come in), I don't really know just reaching for something that makes sense.

  10. Oh yea, there has been changes to her food for about 2-3 weeks now. I use to feed her Science Diet, but now she is getting Purina. Could that be a possible cause?

  11. Hi SN, Snowy is so beautiful! She could be the Daily Kitten of the Day! I am sorry I don't have any words of wisdom, except talk to the vet.

  12. Hi, Snownniesy,
I would check with the vet, the change of food could be upsetting her, but it doesn't really sound like that (she's not throwing up and she is eating right?) That she is looking to get outside and meowing so much does sound like what a cat in heat does. Have you noticed any outside cats hanging around? If she is somehow in heat she would be putting off pheremones that would attract males. Only a vet could figure this out for sure.

  14. Poor Snowy...I hope whatever this new behavior is, that it's easily correctable. It sure does sound like a kitty in heat. Gee...could the vet have been doing multiple spays that day and have actually missed her? *No..of course not*....My kitties truly despise changes in their diet and will really throw a major fit at being presented with anything not to their liking. We pay the price in the long run.....argh! Let us know what you learn....I just adore Snowy's catster pics! Such a little lady! =)

  15. Snow, my Bobby was keeping me up at night for a few months, meowing. By chance, I changed his food and that same night he stopped meowing and slept all night. I guess his old food (Nutro) was upsetting his stomach eventhough he never threw up or had diahrrea.
It may be the food making your Snow meow.

  16. CheetahBoy has a point....our Rosie was spayed, but went "nuts" at times because we found out the vet had left a small part of the ovary...just enough to cause her to act like a non-spayed female! Darling kitty!

  17. My cat Pepper did the same thing when he was about that age. What we found out was he was actually hungry. He had gotten tired of his dry food we had ben giving him. We had bought a large economy bag and it lasted us a while and when we ran out we go the same kind again he just got tired of the same brand all the time. We went out and bought some different dry and he gobbled it down like he hadn't ate in a year. Once he got some other food in his stomach he was happy and stopped meowing all the time especially all night long.
