Gini, I agree with your idea to go back to the building management and tell them for them to not refund your double payment is creating a huge hardship on you. That you now have no money for food and that they should refund you your money. I think it is illegal for them to keep your money. Sheesh they can write you a check. I would also check with your bank to see if you can do anything with them as well. More than likely they will tell you the check was cashed and cannot do anything. It doesn't hurt to ask. If the bldg mgmt still says no, then I would contact your local tenants rights group, a local legal aid group and if possible find out who the owner is of your building and go to them about the issue. If the bldg mgmt isn't the owner, then maybe the owner can reimburse you. Their keeping a double payment is so wrong on so many levels in my book.
AV, I like the idea of taking Abby if she is such a good and clean kitty. You can put the do not disturb sign and make sure she is comfortable, then why not. You mentioned doing your own linens so I assume housekeeping won't be an issue. Hope you feel better.

It is spring cleaning at work today from 2-4pm. Ugh! I have to make sure I can help as much as possible so I show them that I am a good employee. Yesterday I took a mental health day off and while I was home I saw several different trucks come into our complex. They were workmen to come work on some units that were being turned over. Well, it seems someone helped themselves to a tenant's bike that was locked in the garage. Someone cut the chain and stole the bike. Makes me wonder if anyone's cars were looked at to see if they could break into them. Property manager says she is going to lock the gates to the property at all times now (she leaves the front gate open during the day). Hope she follow through with that.

Good afternoon, all!
I won another tennis match today! Then I ran off to work as I now work 1-8:00 on Fridays. There was one person here for the first half hour and now the gym has been empty for an hour.
I'm just taking it easy since no bosses are around and am going to go online and order vet insurance for my boys.
I'm working 8-1 tomorrow and Sunday I have to clean the stupid dentist office again and then go see a dog-sitting client. I'm going to tell my friend the dentist's wife that I don't want to clean the office anymore. It's on my only day off and having it looming on Sunday mornings just ruins my whole weekend. It's too late to tell her now for Sunday, but I'm hoping she'll find someone else before next SUnday so I can be done with it.
GD, congrats on winning your tennis match! Also, as much as you like that extra money from cleaning the dentist's office, I am glad you are going to give it up. Going seven days a week is a lot to ask of anyone. You deserve at least a full day off for yourself if not two of them. I value my weekends off now that I have them. When I worked at a company from 2001-2005 where they had us working six days a week with a lot of overtime during the week, I found that I would guard my Sunday like it was the most precious thing in the world. If I didn't have that day off, I would have lost what little sanity I had at that time.

Katthays, when I looked up the insurance last week, it was about $20.00 a month per kitty. TO me, that's worht it as I never want to be in a situation where I can't afford care for one of my boys.
I'm going to email the dentist's wife now and let her know I'm done with that. I just looked at my calendar and saw that I'm booked for a cleaning next Friday. That's Friday the 13th - am I stupid for thinking of rescheduling?

This is the company that manufactures them. I bought mine on E-Bay, though, because it was a lot cheaper.
Mi is funny. He started running out the door when I come home at night. He's scared of the outdoors, but he's discovered there's grass right outside the door, so he walks out there, crouches and chews on the grass. Other than that, he wants no part of Nature. Bobby loves the outdoors. THere's a pad that you can get for the bottom of the funhouse, but Bobby loves to rollaround in grass, so I didn't get it for him.
GD, you are on early! I love those little tents! I thought about getting one for the girls but they are more like Mi, they have NO interest whatsoever in going outside. How is everyone tonite?

I'm early because I work 1-8 on Fridays and 4:3- to 9 the other days. Since noone's around at the gym, here I am!
Got a lot done today at work. Answered countless emails, think I found a new tennis club for my team next year, applied for health insurance for the boys, etc.

Heavens no! Betty and Wilma got health insurance after Wilma decided to eat the bottom of my Crocs for work. They completely clogged up her intestines and she threw up green bile for three days and finally the vet had to emergency surgery on a Sunday nite. That cost a pretty penny. It's sure nice to have.

You know, I wondered why Bobby took meds but I didn't want to be nosy. Poor baby. Pet health insurance is pretty good, not quite so picky like human health insurance. I had gotten the girls micro-chipped and their medical files (which are electronic and online) were hacked into! So the company that does the micro-chipping GAVE the girls FREE health insurance. It has been a true blessing with Wilma, she is into everything!

Both my boys are micro-chipped, too, just in case.
Bobby had two seizures out of the blue 6 weeks apart last summer. I got complete blood work done and it was normal, so we left him alone. After the second one, though, the vet put him on phenobarbital. He said we'd try it for a year or two and if he doesn't have another seizure, we'll try to wean him off it. Pheno is bad for the liver, so I'd like to get him off it. Of course if there's any chance of a seizure, I won't do it - those are scary!
The REAL mollycat has had ONE seizure and that scared me to death! The vet said it was probably from the abuse she suffered from the house she was taken from before I got her. In the ten years since she has never, ever, had another one and I am so very happy. Pheno is a scary drug and if you can take Bobby off that would be super! (Praying for Bobby)

We are doing Christmas (a little late) and the last time we did I came home with TWO shopping bags of gifts for the girls. One bag for Betty and one for Wilma. Yes Bobby has the LOOK down, must be why Betty thinks he's so cute! Just her type!
