  1. It's the middle of Sunday afternoon - I can't keep calling it Night-shift. All types of food and drink available. Come and join me here all those night-shifters who are still about. If you've just got up, come and have a huge virtual breakfast, brunch or whatever you want.

  2. Good afternoon, PM, It's dark and rainy here too. I hope your little divas will make a daytime appearance soon! I would love a currant scone and big mug of Kona coffee.

  3. Hi SNC. The coffee and scones are on their way.

I just cheated. I snuck behind the settee, grabbed Garbo and had a quick cuddle. She wasn't best pleased, but didn't object too much. She sat with me for a while and let me stroke her. She even purred, but that could have been stress purring. Anyway she has been on my lap for about 10 minutes. Yippee!

  4. Hi PM and SNC!
I am so happy about Garbo and Hepburn. It's nice to see Garbo cuddling with her new mommy at least for a little while.
PM, I read your reply to shopping..lol. I do love to shop so it's no big deal to me. I am taking Maddie so that should be fun. I have to get a humidifier for the baby's room to help with her cold. JinxedFairy gave me a chicken soup recipe so I need to go get some ingredients :)
It's cold and rainy here too...ick

  5. Morning to PM, SC and CM! PM, that is good news about Garbo....maybe that is what the kitts need...some gently "forced" loving :))
It is very dreary here and only 29 degrees F. I feel draggy from the time change...hope everyone has a good day! I may be in and out of the cafe today....

  9. Anyone there? Time for afternoon tea. I have to go in a bit - it's choral evensong tonight, rehearsal starts at 5.00pm prompt. I have to be there as I am singing the alto line in the quartet for the Magnificat.

Perhaps I should have called one of the cats Magnificat??????????

  10. Good morning or good afternoon where ever you may be. PMUK, I love the English High Tea. My sister took my step-mom for a high tea at the Ritz Carlton in San Francisco. They are quite pricey but they have a really nice high tea there. This place sounds like a place I would like to try: http://www.lovejoystearoom.com/Menu/menu.html

It is cloudy this morning but it we have sun in the forecast for the next 7-10 days. Temperatures in the high 50's to low 60's. We need more rain but none is forecasted.

PMUK, your singsong event sounds like fun. Hope you enjoy yourself.

  11. *peeks in cafe* HELLO????

I am so tired. We had a briefing yesterday for students who might be considering a military academy. Two months of work to get ready, nine hours on our feet yesterday.

Tonight we are having dinner guests but I had to sit down for a while. So I got my kitties, my copy of Dewey and finished the book.

Could someone please hand me a box of kleenex?

  12. Hi all! popping in from vaca in Orlando! (......don't tell WWM, but I'm still sooooo SICK with a sore throat, and I know she would tell me not to go to the parks, but I've been to three so far!)...... actually yesturday almost did me in, but today I filled my water bottle with my asprin/salt gargle..... the people that worked there thought "who is that crazy lady spittting in the bushes all over the park??!!!!!.... LOL.... I just can't let being sick stop me, MIL, Son & Daughter are with us, and it's been ages since we've had a family vaca....... promises WWM she will rest tomorrow (maybe)......

  13. *nurses eagle ears perk up*

WHO is making that horrible rasping sound??????? And why is that half crazed looking women spitting in all of those bushes???????

Poor AV!!! You know, it could be something more than just an ordinary sore throat. Could you possibly have strep? Is there a "Doc in a Box" nearby? Maybe a little shot of antibiotics is called for?

  14. OMG!! Spring is here and the trees are in bloom! I am in agony! I have the sinuses all in a tizzy. Being allergic to the animals is bad enough, but when everything begins to bloom and the dogs being it in to me--I will have to thank them later when I am able to breathe!

  15. *Sighs and dons Snot Repellent Gear*

  16. CAUGHT! (red-handed (or throated))! ...wonders why this only happens when I'm on vaca??!!??...... ahem (in her best patient's voice)...... it has gotten a tinsy bit better (actually thought it would be much better by now)....but of course I had to get WORSE over the weekend!..... the gargle is helping, and I really have been coming home early and resting, and going to bed early. If it's not better by Tues. I will definitely go to a walk in Dr. I really hesitate to ask for antibotics, since the only one I've EVER taken in my life almost killed me 3 yrs ago because I had an allergic reaction! I even have a warning on my Driver License.... anyway, does Strep always need an antibotic? or will it run it's course? My throat is red, but no white pockets (that me or anyone can see?)

  17. I appear to not be able to get it out--thus the drainage. Thinking of terrible things I could do to retaliate--but those puppy eyes get me every time! I thought about doing the worst to them--A BATH! But I have no energy seeing that they breathing thing is not functioning properly! Afraid I will have to break down and do a breathing treatment.

  18. ...dons anti-snot unisuit and starts putting gargle backwash in water balloons..... new "amo"! I'll use germ warefare!!!! LOL

Posted 1 year ago by AV #

  19. Hmmm, that would not bode well for taking other antibiotics. Although, it could depend on what class of antibiotics you were given. Strep always needs to be treated as it can progress to something much more serious.

Maybe in addition to the gargle, add a spoonful of honey every four hours or so. It won't help the sore throat to go away but could at least soothe the discomfort.

Are you running a fever? Because that would tell me it's something more than just a "regular" sore throat.

Posted 1 year ago by WillowandWindismom #

  20. *Fearfully looks eastward in the general direction of Orlando. Snidely figures that no one could lob a germ laden balloon all the way from Florida to Texas. Puts on full body armor, just in case*

Posted 1 year ago by WillowandWindismom #

  21. No fever really.... I've been monitoring that too because I know it indicates an infection.... had about 99 the first day, but nothing really since..... (((hugs WWM))) for giving good advise.... actually been thinking along the same lines all day!

Posted 1 year ago by AV #

  22. And right before you go to bed, a nice hot toddy with rum, honey, brown sugar, cloves and lemon.

Posted 1 year ago by WillowandWindismom #

  23. .....snickers because TDKers don't realize that Orlando is the perfect place to launch "germ" balloons from! with the roller coasters, bungie rides and spinning thingys...... it could gain momentum enough to reach California!!............laughs manically......

  24. *Hauls Feline Foam Filled Fortification suits out of the closet and beckons to Willow and Windi*

"Look at the cute clothes that I'm going to put on you!!!! *mutters that they are waterproof but doesn't tell the girls*

Posted 1 year ago by WillowandWindismom #

  25. Well, it's going to be difficult fixing dinner in my Snot Repellent Gear (But at least I'll look cute because I've pasted some sequins all over) but I checked the kitchen and the sous chef has once again failed to arrive. So I had best go and do a few things for dinner. I don't know if our company would be too impressed if I just set out a box of cereal and some milk.

AV - gargle and have a hot toddy!

Posted 1 year ago by WillowandWindismom #

  26. ... pours out gargle and puts "staight" scotch with a shot of honey, lemon & cloves..... heading out the door with family for dinner at "Epcot"s world showcase..... will try to be back on later (if I can stand after my "toddy"!)... oh well, whatelse is vaca for???!!!.... promises to be home early and check in tomorrow!!!! Thanks for all your advise, and for everyones' prayers!...... family wonders about strange back pack AV is carrying..... "hey guys, can we take that ride that goes up to the top of the BIG ball?..... smiles innocently, but is laughing (again manically) inside...... huge sling shot hidden amongst balloons in back pack......

  29. ... will do :) .........

Posted 1 year ago by AV #

  30. Hands wine and cheese to PM :)
Hi AV and WWM. I hope you are enjoying your vacation, even though you are sick.
Wayne, Abbie and I are sick too. Since friday and Abbie woke up with it today. We feel awful, it's just a cold but holy cow.
