  1. What was your favorite school lunch and what item(s) in the cafeteria would force you to bring your lunch from home? I remember looking forward to pizza day, but made a special effort to bring my lunch from home when my junior high school served pizzaburgers

  3. I will have to really think about what I liked but what I would avoid like it was poison was Shepard's Pie and Hamburger Gravy on Whipped Potatoes. Funny thing is I like both now and will make them once in a while...lol

  5. All levels of school, I would always get the tater tots. that was my favorite.
In elementary school we would get peanut butter fudge sometimes and that rocked :)
Never liked the hamburgers at the schools. Not sure they were even beef.

High school I was mostly off campus to eat or brought my lunch.

  6. Elementary School - everything, Air Force Base school lunches rocked.
Junior High - Always took lunch
High School - Woolworth's Big Deal Cheeseburger. Yummy! (We could leave campus for lunch in high school, and Woolworth's was only a couple of blocks away.)

  15. Believe it or not, my favorite school lunch item was the steamed brocolli/cauliflower/carrots!!..... everything else was yucky! and in my day, they made you finish your plate (my milk carton could hold so much "garbage")!.... but my absolute worst, most distusting, wouldn't feed the dog item was "the mystery meat swimming in greasy gravey"..... I actually threw up on days they served that!.... of course many lunches were cut short in the '60's in Florda because we had to pratice "bombing" procedures.... we had to practice getting under our desks when the "bomb alert siren" went off.........I think it scarred my childhood....

  16. My mom always packed my lunch. But when I was in the 8th grade she gave me lunch money every Friday because it was taco day at school. Looking back on it, they were pretty disgusting because they actually used potato as a filler. But I thought that they were the best tacos ever. I would have enough money for two tacos and a coke. Just one more reason to look forward to Fridays!

  22. I don't think I have ever eaten Spam. It just sounds gross.

  23. Spam is really good for breakfast when you're camping too. Slice it up thin, fry it, and eat it. Tastes just like bacon.

    Well... kinda.

  29. *looking at package of SPAM single classic*

Pork, water, salt, modified potato starch, sugar, potassium chloride and everybody's favorite sodium nitrate.

Try it, fry it and let us know how you like it, sweetie. :)

Edit - I've been to that site KD, and some of those recipes DO look good.

MCW, it's ok - it can't hurt you ANYmore :)
