Willow is jumping up and down with excitement because Grommie has seen that the gift she and Windi brought to Mac is moving. She turns to tell Windi but then looks at her sister in horror. Windi has her whole face buried in a bowl of ice cream and is busy slurping away. Willow rushes over, wipes off Windi's face and hands her a spoon. "Honestly, Windi - don't you ever read the etiquette tips that are written in the Gracious Kitty Handbook?". She looks around and hopes that no one else has noticed Windi's social faux pas.

Fred saw since he was the one holding the bowl for Windi. He loves to look out for her. He shyly looks at Willow and says "sorry, but she wanted it"

Kittymom approaches the gift table, and sure enough, one of the packages seems to be making a very slight noise, and what's more, it DOES seem to be moving around slightly, despite being surrounded by other gaily wrapped presents. Kittymom is now a bit wary of this "gift"; she hopes WWM hasn't 'outdone' herself with this one......

Meanwhile, Grommet runs around the house looking for MacKenzie; upstairs she trots; bedroom, no; office, no; bathroom, no; guest room, no; game room, yes! He's in the game room with a bunch of the guys playing bizzy ball soccer. She runs in to whisper in his ear, "You have a present downstairs from Willow and Windi, and it's moving around and making noise!" she tells him excitedly. He looks at her with an exasperated expression, "can't you see we've got a game going on here? We'll be down later once we've finished the game," he hisses, and turns back to the soccer game. "Girls!" he says to the guys, 'can't live with 'em and can't live without 'em!" The boys laugh, while Grommet gives her brother a whithering glance, twirls around on the spot, tail up in a delicate point and sashays out of the game room. Then she scurries down the hall and takes the slide back downstairs to the rest of her guests...... "That's the last time I try to give HIM some interesting news," she harrumphs to herself under her breath. Just as she rounds the corner into the great room, the music switches to the bunny hop! The line is just forming in the middle of the dance floor, so she scurries to the end, and places her paws on the hips of the last kitty in line. "Dadada, dadada, dadada, da, da, da," the music plays and the kitties bunny hop in rhythm to the sound. The little cat fight with her brother is soon forgotten as she gets into the music!

Windi gives Fred a kiss of thanks for sticking up for her. Then she whispers to Willow, "Won't Kittymom be surprised when Mac opens his gift and all of those lizards run off? Just think how much fun everyone will have chasing them!".

As Kittymom surveys the room, she smiles to herself; she really enjoys seeing all the kitties enjoying themselves. They look so cute out there doing the bunnyhop! And, she just loves Windi's enthusiasm! That young lady never has a bad time; and she's always so cute, all the kitties love to be around her.
Just then it occurs to Kittymom that Velvet and Spice aren't here; I thought Cheri said they would be here, she thinks. I sure hope nothing has gone wrong at their house. I'll have Mac give them a call ~ she looks around for a minute ~ when I can find him, that is! she laughs to herself.

Heading back to the kitchen to make sure there are enough snacks and beverages for everyone, her gaze falls on the gift table again...... That package from Willow and Windi is visibly wiggling now.... Kittymom heads for the liquor cabinet. Somehow she is sure she's going to need a nice cold martini before the gifts are opened.... "maybe even a double," she thinks to herself as looks back at the package... What is IN there? she wonders. A new kitten? No; she quickly decides WWM wouldn't let her girls wrap a kitten up in a box, no matter how cute the box looked.... A battery operated kitty teaser? Maybe... if the teaser accidently got turned on when the girls were coming thru the hole to the party....

Mac and the other boys, having finished their game of bizzy ball soccer, trot down the hallway to the stair slide.... Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh..they hop on the slide and zoom! downstairs! Laughing all the way down, they 'high five' paws at the bottom and trot back into the great room. Mac and Fred head over to the CD player, pick out a couple of Steve Tyrell CD's (it's easy listening) and load them in behind the current selections. Then, Mac trots into the kitchen in search of Kittymom... "Mom, is it time for us to open our presents yet?" he asks. Kittymom, being currently fortified with a nice, cold Grey Goose martini, smiles sweetly and says, "Sure, honey, this would be about the best time, I guess." To herself she thinks, "I sure hope WWM and Willow and Windi just sent a battery operated kitty teaser."..... Mac rushes back to the great room and hollers (in a rather undignified cat voice),"Hey, everyone it's time for Grommie and me to open our gifts!!!!" Since the room has a high ceiling his voice echos thru the house, and all the kitties hear his shout. Several other kitty guests have already been "investigating" the gift from Willow and Windi since Grommie discovered it's 'strange' properties, and everyone rushes eagerly from all parts of the house for the "opening ceremonies"! Kitties gather around the gift table, chattering eagerly; many are asking if any kitty knows what is in the 'special gift' from Willow and Windi. Willow is excited for the surprise, so she's kept 'mum' on the subject, only saying to all the inquiries, "You'll just have to wait until Mac opens it to see what's inside," in a very mysterious tone. She is so hoping Windi doesn't give away their secret until Mac has a chance to open the present......

Velvet and Spice knock on the door just before all the kitties gather to sing "happy birthday" before eating the cake. "Sorry, we're late, but we're here now !!! Velvet is holding a very heavy case of catnip champagne. Mac and Velvet exchange headbonks and kitty kisses and whispurs. Spice, on the other hand, has a giant catnip plant in bloom with purple ribbons in both paws. "we decided to get you a catnip plant in bloom, it will grow and blossom if it doesn't get completely eaten. Happy birthday Mac and Grommet !!! Let's party !!!

MacKenzie and Grommet start unwrapping their presents.... All of them are soooo pretty, with paper and special ribbons, There are greenies and tons of catnip mice from 2Bpurring's crew, and cat dancers, 'nip mice and a pink collar for Grommet (one of her favorite colors, so she has to try it on immediately), and a handsome green collar for Mac Kenzie; a cowgirl outfit complete with fringed skirt and vest, and a cowgirl hat for Grommet from Willow and Windi; a handsome Texas belt buckle for MacKenzie (he's thrilled because, although he's lived in San Antonio for over 5 years now, he still doesn't have one yet, and this one is particularly fancy!). Every one of the gifts is just perfect, and all the kitties are excited! Mac has passed around the 'nip mice and some greenies and Kittymom has also passed snacks and napkins. The room is abuzz with kitties talking and laughing and commenting on each gift as it is unwrapped.
The last gift on the table is now 'chirpping and literally 'walking' around! Kittymom is REALLY nervous now because she realizes no battery operated kitty teaser moves like this gift is moving......... What can it be???????
She watches anxiously from the sidelines as Mac makes a great show of reaching for the package ~ he already knows how much all the kitties are dying to know what could possibly be inside..... He picks it up carefully, and it almost squirms out of his paws. Sensing that it might be more fun to open it on the floor, he hops down off the table and heads to the center of the great room floor. All the kitties quickly gather around him in a circle as he removes the bow, and sets it aside carefully (he'll play with that later), and rips off the paper. Now the box is almost jumping out of his paws...... He sets it on the floor and jerks it open!

Abby rushes in with Cuddles huffing and puffing behind her!.......So sorry we're late, we were caught in that "Disney" rush, and just got home..... Abby runs over to give Grommit and MacKenzie their presents..... many little mice items from the "Magic Kingdom"..... a "Mini" mouse princess hat for Grommit, and a "Mickey" top hat for Mac.... plus a whole basket of other goodies...... "we have our sleep over bags with us, Mommie and Daddie are going out to dinner (again) tonite, so I promised her we would be on our best behavior, and that KittyMom would watch out for us! Abby dissappears with giggles in the throng of kitties laughting and partying!.... Cuddles heads straight for the buffet, helps herself to a heaping plate of everything, and locates a comfy chair by the fire..... she smiles to herself as she watches the "youngsters" , who seem to have endless energy, and are in constant motion!......

CRICKETS EXPLODE OUT OF THE BOX AND START HOPPING MADLY AROUND THE ROOM!!!!! RIGHT BEHIND THE EXPLOSION OF CRICKETS COMES A 'HERD' OF DESERT LIZARDS SCURRYING IN EVERY DIRECTION AT ONCE!!!!!! THE KITTIES GO WILD WITH DELIGHT, EVEN THE OLDER ONES ARE ACTING LIKE TEENAGERS AS THEY GROWL, CATTERWALLER, JUMP, POUNCE, STALK AND CHASE THE BUGS AND LIZARDS!! THE PARTY COMES ALIVE WITH KITTY HUNTERS!! IT'S THE MOST FUN THEY HAVE HAD FOR, OH, I DON'T KNOW...DAYS, MAYBE!!!!
On the other hand, Kittymom has jumped up on top of granite kitchen counter, flipped her Grey Goose martini into the sink accidently (luckily for her it was in a plastic party glass ;-) AND she's yelling "OMG LIZARDS AND BUGS!!!!!!!!!" AARRRGGGGHHHHH! ARRRRGGGGGGHHHH! YOU KITTIES BETTER CATCH EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THOSE CREATURES!!!!! (Then, remembering her manners, she adds quickly) PLEASE!!!!!!!

I think WWM has disappeared for tonight 'cuz she doesn't want to fess up to sending a case of desert lizards and crickets to Mac ;-) I think they are those bright green ones that sneak into my house here every so often ~ ugh! I used to have some get in the house in San Diego, too. I had to kill them first, before the cats had a chance to try to eat them. I am definitely NOT fond of kissing "lizard eating cat lips" (Remember "Lucy" from the 'Peanuts' comic strip ~ "dog lips, I touched dog lips!!"? Well, you get the idea.....)

Despite the chaos of fun, Grommie immediately notices that Abby and Cuddles have arrived! She rushes over to welcome them and, finding Velvet and Spice, takes all the girls upstairs to her room. "I'm sooo glad you've all come to the party," she tells them. "You can put your overnight things in here; we'll all get settled for the sleepover later, after the boys head home." The girls stow their overnight bags, and, Grommie says, "c'mon, let me show you the fun slide we have for getting back downstairs!" Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, the girls fly downstairs, laughing and giggling; back to the "hunt".....

knock, knock...........is it too late to join the party? The zoo crew come crashing in! Our Meowmy works entirely too much and she stopped long enough to send us here! We have lots of shrimp kabobs along with the fixin's for smores for the girls party later! Happy birthday Mac & Grommet! We brought a membership for the nipp of the month club!

Well, it's just after 7PM Texas time, so, we're winding up the birthday party now.... The boys will be leaving for home soon, so the girls can have their sleepover. Kittymom is passing the snacks again, so every kitty can eat all they want.... she's told them to say their "good-byes" and wrap up the goodies they'd like to take home with them..... Oops, more guests have just arrived ~ we'll keep the party on for a while longer.... the dancing has started again!

Kittymom calls MacKenzie and Grommet into the kitchen for a little conference ~ she's putting them in charge of the party for a while, and tells them to make sure all the kitties have a wonderful time! Play whatever music you kitties want, dance to your heart's content, play with all the toys, use the kitty slide. Just be sure to behave, AND, PLEASE MAKE SURE ALL THE CRICKETS AND LIZARDS ARE GONE when the birthday party ends..... and, since the girls are having a sleepover, let's try to send all the boys home around nine o'clock or so, OK? Mac and Grommie agree, and Kittymom heads upstairs to LOCK HERSELF IN THE BEDROOM with a fresh martini to RECOVER from the "invsion of the komodo dragons" ;-)

lydia knocks on the door with her furry tufted paw , she just had her nails painted pink for the party. mac answers th door " oh there you are , we wondered where you where" lydia explains her meowmy was late getting home from work , she couldn't wait to get here. She has a huge pink and purple wrapped present in her hands for mac and grommie. Grommie comes to the door to see who it is and see's lydia. Lydia and grommie giggle and say hi !! lydia heard the music and taps her tail to the beat. lydia tells grommie to open their present from her , mac and grommie start unwrapping the paper and find a kitty play house. Mac says " awesome the boys and i could meet her " grommie said " i don't think so bro , this is a playhoue for me and my friends" lydia told them " now this is for both of you , you can share it as a club house and a playhouse" mac and grommie agree. grommie asks did your bring your jammies? lydia ( who they call lala for short) meows and said yes " i brought my lavender footies , my tufts get cold at nighT " she also brought her hello kitty blanket.
a new song begins and lydia starts singing and dancing. across the floor ran a cricket. Lydia said " was that a cricket?" how did that get here? then she meowed " look 2 more crickets!!" let's catch them !!

Cricket runs to Lydia and gives her a hug. "Are you staying for the sleepover? I have extra jammies if you need it."

Windi looks at Willow amongst all of the chaos of their gift and says, "Now THAT'S what I'm talking about!!!!'. The girls nuzzle each other and shake their heads with delight over the success of their gift.
Willow tells Windi, "I sure hope that we're still invited for the sleepover!!! Let's go put on our jammies and act innocent". Windi nods in agreement.
Two little black kitties emerge from the bedroom in pristine white flannel gowns looking as innocent as a newly fallen snow......

WWM beckons the girls to the cat hole. "Please just try to behave yourselves!!! And be gracious guests in Kittymom's, Mac and Grommie's house. Have fun tonight and I will see you in the morning."
She gives them each a kiss goodnight and looks wistfully as the girls whoosh back through to the party.

WWM, of course all the girls are still invited to the sleepover! Their gift of crickets and lizards was truly the hit of the birthday party! All the kitties loved it!
However, IF I should have any 'critters' still leftover by tomorrow evening, you owe me a LARGE Grey Goose martini, straight up, the next time we get together, understood? ;-)

....Cuddles ears perk up at the thought of grey goose martinis and crickets.... her favorite is straight up, shaken (not stirred), with 2 "crickets on a stick"...... she scans the floor for a few "morsels"....
....Abby is upstairs with the girls, giggling and getting their jammies on for the night!..... hers are a golden color, with "choco kitty" on them. (Hello Kittys' cousin)......she brushes her teeth, and brushes her beautiful sable to a soft, sleek sheen......

It is after 9 o'clock in Texas. Mac, Grommie and the rest of the girls have said their "good nights" to the boys. Mac handed out the party favor bags to each of them, there were purrs and headbonks all around, and the boys whooshed home thru the cyber hole. Heads up to their meowmas ~ they might not be too hungry when they get home!! Oh, and, if any of them have lizard/cricket breath, don't blame Kittymom ~ just leave a post for WWM!
The girls are gathering in Grommie's bedroom; somehow, they've managed very well to set up the darling pink tent with the kitty ears all by themselves (Kittymom heaves a sigh of relief 'cuz she's still trying to recover from the "invasion of the Comodo dragons" -ugh!) Some of the girls already have their jammies on, and the rest are changing now. With all the chatting, purring, and headbonks, it may be a while before they're actually ready for bed.
Kittymom has strategically placed kittie munchies, 'eau de nuit' (water), cuddle cups, blankies, toothburshes, toothpaste, mouthwash, small night lights, and extra jammies (just in case). Grommet is a good hostess, and, she's promised to let me know if any kitty needs anything, anything at all, even kitty cuddles/sleeping on meowma's bed ;-)
Right now, as I just peeked in on them, they are chatting happily about tomorrow's spa/beauty day while getting ready for bed! I'm overwhelmed with love and affection for all of them, they are so precious!! I'm going to leave them to enjoy their girl time, but, I will check in regularly throughout the night to make sure no kitty is homesick or frightened.
Tomorrow will be such fun for the ladies!
