  1. Okay, so I walked into the closet where Nathaniel was growling at Sophie about something, tried to figure out what he was chewing on, chased him around the apartment, only for him to swallow it. I walked back into the closet and on the floor was a torn up Tylenol cold medicine package. I think he only ate one, but I'm a little worried. He seems perfectly fine, and it's been about 10 minutes since he ate it.

PS I was transferring my meds from one location to another and the one little thing must have slipped out of my hands. I've thoroughly checked the apartment now to make sure that nothing else escaped, including under the bed.

  6. Nathaniel is currently at the vet where they're going to induce vomiting. Apparently Tylenol is just about the most toxic medicine a cat can eat. If, after vomiting, he's doing okay and eating and everything, I can get him back this afternoon. The vet is hopeful since I got him there within about 30 minutes of his eating it. Then, tomorrow or Friday, I have to take him for a screen of liver function. Please keep him (and me) in your thoughts and prayers. Also, Sophie's a bit confused because she's never been here without him.

  9. Ohhh, poor Nathaniel.....I am glad you took him to the vet when you did! I didn't realize that about Tylenol and cats! So, I learned something here today, too! I pray he will be fine.

  10. go to the vet right away !!

  11. It is good you got him to the vet so promptly. Tyelenol is such a dangerous drug to be OTC. It is toxic not to just cats but all animals including us folks. Overdoses kill and not quickly as the mechanism is liver failure.

I have started our vigil for the little guys save and full recovery.

  20. Nathaniel is now home from the vet and feeling fine. I'm not entirely sure he even ate the pill. I can't find it, but with cats that doesn't mean anything. He has to go back tomorrow for blood tests and again in two weeks. I've been told the signs to watch for tonight. Right now, though, he's a bit irritable (understandably) but glad to be back home! Thank you for your prayers!

  21. Thank goodness, and thanks for the update. Here's hoping the sneaky little cutie didn't actually swallow the thing.

  23. Time to vacuum and attempt to kitten-proof the area.

Whew! Dodging bullets should not be a hobby indulged by our furry friends.

  24. Thank goodness! Why in the world do they make us so crazy! You all remember the crisis with Wilbur. About 6 weeks after that awful time the stinker ate a twist tie off of a bread sack. (Who knows where he found it?!) Yikes!! Scared me to death. As they say "this too shall pass!". Face it TDKers we will never be bored with kitties around. I am so thrilled that sweet Nate is ok. I'm praying that all the tests in the weeks come back normal. Thoughts and prayers and scritches to all of you.
