  1. Thanks, Molly! Unfortunately I never got many kitten pictures of Bobby. I didn't have a very good camera and then he got sick and wasn't feeling well enough for me to want to take pictures.
I take a ton of pictures of him now, though, and have a bunch of baby Milo pictures, too.

  3. Ah, they luvs each other! Or was that a prelude to a wrestle off?

  5. How adorable they are!! Milo has almost caught up to Bobby in the growing CATagory! :)

  6. LOL, PJ! No, that time there was no wrestling!
Milo still tries to come up and lay next to Bobby and usually, even if Bob was asleep, he'll get up and walk away. Today the view must have been really something since he stayed :)

Susie, I haven't weighed them, but I think Mi is heavier than Bobby now. He's getting pretty round. Bobby is slimming down again after I stopped the Meow Mix and the wet kitten food. Hopefully Mi will slim down a bit, too.

  7. GD, your boys are so CUTE! I don't know what it is, maybe their purr-sonalities but sure are something special! Thanks for sharing so much about yourself and your boys! I enjoy coming back to this thread time and time again! Always something new to learn!

  8. Thanks, Molly!
Mi was a bit upset with me, that I didn't tell his story, so maybe tonight when the gym is slow, I'll do that!

  9. I can understand that, Betty often feels the same way about Wilma. Wilma is the really crazy one of the two so she is often the topic of conversation! Betty thinks that Wilma is "loved" more too but I remind her I love her just as much as her sister. So you just have to let Mi know he is just as important as Bobby, you just had Bobby first and he went thru a lot! How is Gym Guy? :D

  10. Gym Guy is well, but I can't figure out the situation out. He's had plenty of chances to ask me out or something, but nothing is happening. We talk a lot - the other day, we talked in the parking lot til 9:45. We wer talking about my place and that I was thinking about moving at some point. He offered to help me move! Maybe I'll have to move now and offer to take him out for dinner for helping? I have no money to move, but that's a minor detail :)

  13. I must admit I was very excited to meet GD for both of us to ride up together for the TDK meetup in Orlando. I met and hugged GD then I must admit,I had to meet the famous sweet Bobby and Milo for myself.(hehe)
I feel fortunate to have met them all. :)
GD you have to move? Do you have another place picked out?

Posted 2 years ago by Buttercup #

  14. GD, if need be we will take up a collection so you can take gym guy out! You have to do it! My girls will go panhandle on the corner if they have to! They are cute and they should be able to get some big bucks!

  15. Such a sweet pic of Bob and Milo!

  16. Glad to see you back here, Cyndid! Hope everything's okay! How's Bobby's twin Brodie?

It was great meeting you, too, marsha! We must do another road trip!!!

I don't have to move, but I'd love to. If you recall, I have no a/c here in the summer and it gets really terrible. I'd love to find something before summer really kicks in. I'm also tired of having no space. I can't have people over and it's tough for my family to visit as I really don't have the space for it.
I don't know how the gym will do or what will happen thee. I'm still waiting for a friend who may have a job for me to let me know. Anyway, I want to make sure I have a steady income before I leave here as this is nice and cheap.

  17. Okay, so now that I found Mi's baby pictures, here's his story:

After Bobby had been with me for about a year, I started thinking about getting him a buddy. I really didn't want to get another cat to care for and was happy with just Bobby and me. However, I was away a lot between having a boyfriend and spending a lot of time working and dog-sitting. Bobby had to be by himself a lot.
I thought about it for a couple of weeks and on a Thursday night I left work nd started my bike ride home. My bike ride took me past bosth PetsMart and Petco and I thought that maybe I ought to just take a look and see if there were any kittens. THIS time I knew I wanted a girl! (Yeah, like the first time!). I stopped in at Petco because I knew they were more likely to have adoptions on a Thursday night than PetsMart where I had only seen them on the weekends.
I walked in and there were 10-12 kittens. They were all so cute! I looked at them for a long time and took a few out to play with. I then asked the lady there which one was the friendliest. Right away she pointed to tiny Milo. The poor little guy was sitting by himself while everyone else was eating! He was smaller than all of them, too. I agreed to hold him and go play with him for a bit. The moment I held him, he started a, for his tiny size, quite impressive rumbly purr. I decided having a friendly kitten was more important than whether it was a boy or a girl, so I decided to take him.
I didn't know how adoptions worked at Petco (different Humane Society) and once again thought maybe they'd have to approve me and I could pick him up in a few days. Nope - they were ready to send him off right away! Unlike the people at PetsMart, these people had no idea where he came from or waht his story was other than the fact that they thought he'd been shipped up with other kittens from Miami. Noone asked a lot of questions, they just seemed to want him out of there.
This time around, I didn't call anyone because it was six-thirty/seven and in the middle of dinner time, so I didn't want to bother anyone to come get us. Instead I biked home with Mi in the cardboard carrier! It was about a 10 minute ride and he cried little hoarse cries the whole way while I kept apologizing.
When I got home, I walked in with the carrier and Bobby came over to sniff it. Mi was still crying. After Bobby sniffed a bit (there was no hissing - Bobby is a gentleman), I brought Mi to the bathroom and got him set up there.
I spent a lot of time with him in the bathroom and with Bobby outside the bathroom, reassuring him that he was still my special boy. Whenever I waas in the bathroom with Mi, Bobby sat outside sniffing and listening and sometimes knocking on the door. I had planned on taking Mi to Bobby's vet and by the next morning, I was fairly sure he really needed it. He seemed to have a cold, was quite hoarse and refused to eat anything.
Petco had given me a coupon for free vet visit for the first two weeks I had Mi, but I wanted to take him to the vet I used for Bobby already. Once again, I called Old Boss and asked him to pick me up because I got a kitten who needed to go to the vet, and once again, he showed up to pick me up and met Mi.
I took Mi to the vet and when he took a look at him, he was furious. Poor Mi was not even 7 weeks old yet, had a terrible URI and had been neutered. The vet could not believe he'd been neutered at six weeks and at less than the minimum 2 lbs. recommended. He prescribed vitamin b12, antibiotics and a whole lot of sub-qs. He walked out to get the fluids ready and took the papers with him that I had gotten from Petco. He came back in after looking at them and mentioned that I could go to their vet for free instead of spending a few hundred dollars there. At this point, I too, was upset at the care - or lack thereof - that Mi had gotten and I had no intention of going to any vet associated with them. So I had the vet give him fluids a shot of b12 and a shot of anti-inflammatory. He gave me antiiotics, Nutri-cal and force feeding syringe things to take home with me. He told me if Mi wasn't eating,I would have to force feed him. I asked him if Baby Mi was going to make it, and he said he couldn't guarantee it :(
Mi started feeling better after the fluids and the medicine but he still wouldn't eat for a couple of days. That is, until someone here recommended I feed him something fishy and strong smelling. If he was able to smell what I gave him, he'd be much more likely to eat it. I got pouches and pouches of morsels in gravy and mixed the gravy with plain Pedialyte for him and amazingly, he started lapping it up! He lived on Pedia-Gravy for about a week until he felt good enough to eat regular wet food with pedialyte added to it. He had bad diahrrea that the vet hadn't wanted to treat the first time we came in, because he wouldn't be able to tolerate so much medicine, but when we got back there after 2 weeks, we got something for that and soon my Milo felt all better!
Mi lived in the bathroom in quarantine for the first two weeks and he and Bobby would usually be on either side of the door, pawing at eachother. By the time I let Mi out, both of them were more than ready to meet eachother. It went exceptionally well and once I saw the two of them together, I was so glad I got Bobby a buddy. I still am!

Here's a series of pictures of Baby Mi:

  18. When I first started letting Mi out of the bathroom, I'd let him out for about 15 minutes at a time and then put him back in the bathroom.
Here's one of his first outings where he discovered Bobby's favorite toy:

  19. I love hearing Milo's story again. His baby pictures are just as cute the second time around. I so remember when he was quarantined to the bathroom, I couldn't wait for him to come out and meet Bobby.

  20. Just love the ones where Bobby is bathing his little bro!

  21. GD, you sure have had your share of adventures with Bobby and Mi! So glad to have heard Mi's story now. He sure was (and still is) a cute baby. I am happy you hung in there with him and nursed him back to health. How cute to see Milo was "THE" daily kitten one day. Do you remember which day that was? I would love to go back and look at that one!
