  1. Hey all, come join me on the night shift. I hope all are well and that we can chat.

Had a rough day. Trying to find insurance for Kay, not happening, she is uninsurable. Fielding many phone calls from people who have health savings plan. Have been shooting them down like ducks. It is not good. So she is out of luck. I hate the insurance companies. What will be will be. It is cheaper for her to fill her meds than to continue, so we will drop her insurance as of this end of this month, and what will be will be.

  2. (((Lynn)) and (((Kay)))..... they have GOT to fix this country's health insurance crisis!.......

PS...I love you dearly, but is this last months and yesturdays' nightshift? ;)

  3. Don't we all know it. We were keeping her cobra hoping that the bill would pass that they could keep it until they hit medicare. That didn't happpen and she was laid off before the subsidy to pay some of the cost, so at $570 per month and her ss is only $1000 a month this is a no brainer. Thanks for the hugs, we hug you back.

  4. Cobra is super expensive! Or it was 20+ yrs ago when I quit my job to go into business with Hubbs. I don't know if you've looked in to a catastrophic only policy, we had to go to one of those for a few years when we first opened our business because becoming self employed, there was no insurance. It's a policy that covers you for a major illness, where you've already come out of pocket $5000 (you can choose different options), but doesn't cover wellness or drugs.... the good news is, it was very inexpensive, and something we could fall back on if something major happened to any one of us. The every day drugs we had to pay, and pick/choose our checkups... but we felt like at least we were covered in a major tradegy.....

  5. Oooooh, we're going back in time!!!

    Hi Lynn, hi AV!

  6. Hi Lynn and AV, just popping in briefly as I have to venture out in the pouring rain soon. It's been such a lousy day the Shadz hasn't known whether to come inside or go outside. At the moment she's out.
The health insurance situation sounds terrible Lynn. Don't ask me about our system here though, we have health insurance but also free government funded hospitals. Must fly now. . .or is that swim. I'll be back later on after I have returned and dried myself off.

  7. AV, have tried to do that, but was rejected. I applied for her on the high deductible and still didn't help. If you have a link I could look into, I would appreciate it. Thanks for your input.

  11. I'm fine now Lynn, my nasty cold has almost gone, i just have a very deep voice at the moment, very sexy sounding. Autumn is starting to make itself felt a bit here so hopefully Spring is appearing for you.
Heading off into the rain now. Bye all

    Posted 2 years ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  12. MS, glad you are feeling better, I hope it contiues. Deep voice is very sexy! I am sorry for the autumn for you, maybe, spring is coming here. I am happy for that. It means new beginnings and for my new job and the plants here, bright colors and happiness. So sorry we switch things around, but as we go into autumn here, I love hearing of your new beginnings!

  14. I tried to apply for benefits for her on the PA website. Seems they take my income and assets and apply it to her. Now this I don't understand. We are not married, but would like to be. Since we are not, why should the money in the bank in joint names, be an issue. If I tell you most of it is mine, that should not be a hinderence to her. But no, if there is money that is in both names, you are equal to owning it in the states eyes. If we move the money, it will show up and could compromise any and all applications from this day forth. I just don't know what to do here, and have to realize that I can't do anything. We tried to cover each other as separate partners and it doesn't work in the long run.

  25. Oh Lynn, *sighs* life can be so trying sometimes!...... Hubbs and I had to split ourselves on separate insurance policies once we went back to regular insurance.... Him on one, and me & the kids on another!..... I wish I knew more, but at this point, I can say, you might need advise from a professional insurance person.... there are certain types of insurance professionals, that do nothing but analyze policies (for companies or individuals) and determine if their current coverage is adequate, too much, or too little. I have a friend that does this, and I think this may be the kind of person you need to seek advise from. I'll make a note to myself to email him tomorrow and ask him exactly what kind of person you might should speak to. I'll get back with you after I hear from him...... Prayers to you and Kay!......

good night and sweet dreams all! just took my cough medicine, so the count down to blackout has begun!!! See you in the St. Patty's day Cafe tomorrow!

  29. Yes, I am here, tired as heck but here. Ended up spending 4 hours in the ER w/Lynn, she hobbled out w/soft cast not knowing if she has a broken ankle or not. They took Xrays but couldn't see one but seem to think it may be hidden somehow. Made sure she had water and snacks late this afternoon and will check on her again in the morning to see if she needs anything before I home to sleep. So how was your day?

Posted 2 years ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  30. Wow, that all sounds familiar with Lynn's ankle. Thankfully they could see that Mum had torn a piece of bone off. She is getting around now without any crutches and flatly refuses to use a cane as it will make her look old. She is back at Tai Chi and it is really strengthening her foot and the Physio says keep it up. I surely hope that whatever is wrong with Lynn's foot is discovered soon and she can get the appropriate treatment. How did it happen Deb?
