Beth, I have a project in mind that I'm going to do for Christmas gifts for my family. IF I stop procrastinating! I'm going to do a family cookbook with recipes from my great grandmother, grandmother, my mom and whoever else I can find original recipes. I have all my grandmother's recipe notebooks that she kept so I have lots to start with. Then, I'm going to scan in old family photos to go with the recipes. If I can pull it off, I think it will make a nice gift. Not highly practical, as lots of my grandmothers recipes call for lard and "oleo" but I don't mean for it to really be a working cookbook. More of a family history.

thats a great idea about a cook book with old recipes. i remember my grandmother used oleo !! it's been so long since i have heard that. ooh i bet your cook book will be interesting.. i would love to read it. thats a great idea. it will be a awesome gift !! please let me know how you are doing on it!! keep me posted on all your family last names !! if i come across any names on roostweb i'll let you know !!
