My daughter and I will be driving thru Midland this Saturday on our way to California. We should be there somewhere around 5 to 6 pm. I was wondering if you and Mr. WWM would like to have dinner?

Lisa, it is about a five hour drive to Midland from Austin.
2BP, contrary to public belief, Midland is NOT the end of the world. However, you can get a really good look at it from Midland!

CCM and his daughter should be enroute to Midland! It will be a very quick visit, as CCM is hoping to make New Mexico before stopping for the night. I'm not sure that he realizes just how far that is - it is at least five more hours from Midland to NM!
In any event, they are coming over for dinner. I've had to plan a dinner that I can bake or roast everything and then sort of "hold" it, if need be. We don't know for certain what time they will arrive. But he's going to call us from Big Spring, which will let us know that they are about 30 - 40 minutes out.
So, here's the menu:
Field greens salad with Roquefort cheese, pears and candied pecans
Orange curried baked chicken
Broccoli Cheese custard
Scalloped potato gratin
dinner rolls
Creme caramel with fresh blackberries and strawberries
And I will take pictures! Willow is very excited and has been fussing with her hair. Windi has already come up to me and asked, "You aren't going to let them come in our house, are you????".

YUM! That sounds good! I wish GD and I could "sneak" in for dinner too! Tell Windi it is going to be just fine! She doesn't need to worry or be scared! Willow, keep fluffing up! I am sure you will look PURR fect!
