Leeny is going through a rough time right now and emailed me to let you all know. She is too emotionally wiped out to do it herself.
I don't want to accidently say more than she wants, so I will summarize. Mr. Leeny's psych meds have stopped working effectively. There was a pushing incident that resulted in Leeny being injured and having to go to the ER. The ER called the police and Leeny tried to pursuade them not to arrest him but have him put into a psych ward and not jail. He did not end up in either place.
I'll use her words here:
Since then, both his remorse and his cooperation have worn down considerably. On Monday the GP started a med swap, and my husband has an intake appointment on April 3 at the local public mental health agency. They will conduct an evaluation and make a "referral to an appropriate facility." That's what concerns me now. Since the day after he pushed me, he's been rejecting the idea of hospitalization with increasing vehemence. He even said on Monday that he wouldn't see the GP until the doctor called back and assured him that the doctor and I weren't conspiring together to have him hospitalized.>>
Leeny has contacted an organization for help with obtaining a TRO for her safety. :-(
