CW, email me. I have her husband's name. I looked it up from the post where Lucybelle was so sick and we were waiting for news. In fact I called Leeny back then.

Hi, I'm here, everyone. I'm in my office and off the clock.
The last weekend in March, I got a bad cold. I went to work that Monday to prepare the important presentation. Turned out to be a very quick and easy job, just a revision of a previous presentation. I got it done in about an hour and planned to copy it to a flash drive, print it out and put it in a notebook for my boss, etc., just as I always do, on Tuesday. When I got home on Monday night, though, I started feeling much worse and ran a temperature of 101.7, so the IT guy did what was necessary to make the presentation portable.
By Thursday, all of my symptoms had resolved except a piercing sinus headache, bad cough, and a lot of congestion. I went to the doctor, who diagnosed me with a secondary sinus infection. He prescribed an antibiotic and a decongestant, but at the pharmacy they told me that the decongestant he prescribed is no longer manufactured and to take an over-the-counter medicine. The OTC stuff didn't help. I got to church on Sunday only because it was Palm Sunday, and yesterday I called the doctor back. He thinks it's mainly an allergy problem now (we've got clouds of yellow pollen billowing around these days) and has given me some Allegra-D. That seems to be helping nicely.
CW, thank you for calling me the other day. The person who answered the phone actually was Mr. Leeny. Lots of people mistake him for a woman because he has a rather high-pitched voice. If anyone needs to look up my home number in the future, just think of what comes off the old block; that's how my number is listed.
As for everything that was supposed to happen last week, it was a total wipeout because I was sick. All the appointments were cancelled and are going to have to be re-scheduled. I'll take care of that tomorrow. I only worked for half a day today, and spent most of my time cleaning out mail boxes.
I think I'm going to be getting a home computer soon. I'll have to get it from one of those rent-to-own places because that's the only way I can pay for it right now. It's getting to where having a home computer is a necessity, not a convenience. Not having one is shutting me out of everything, work-wise and personally. I'll be able to work from home if necessary, and I won't scare TDKers any more!
Thank you for your concern. I'll let you know when things get set up again.

Oh, Leeny, I'm so glad you checked in! Sorry you were so sick! I took Allegra-D for a while and it worked well for me, too. Zyrtec does the trick for me, as well, without having to go to the doctor as it's available without a prescription now.
Hope you feel better and that you get everything resolved! -

Leeny, I wanted to tell you that I have seen one of those small Notebook type laptops for as low as $399. If you shop around, you could probably find one at Micro Center or Walmart. Sometimes the store offers financing. The rent-to-own places are huge ripoffs from what I've heard.
-
Agree with CW. I think maybe if you watch the WalMart ads or instore specials you should be fine. I got this one I am on now (laptop) at Walmart for $399. I used money from a work bonus for it plus a bunch of giftcards I had piled up. Please try that route if you can, I believe the rent to own will bleed you dry. Best of luck friend!

Have two of the three cancelled appointments rescheduled: Am seeing my psychiatrist tomorrow afternoon, and am going to the domestic violence prevention agency at noon next Tuesday (the 14th). Have left a message with the community mental health agency telling them I need to reschedule Mr. Leeny's appointment and asking them to call me back at my office.
I suppose saving up for a computer is a better idea than going to one of those rent-to-own places, particularly since computers are becoming so inexpensive (under $1000). I just get frustrated when something like this week-long illness happens and I get out of touch with everything. Then, all I can think about is wanting to fix it RIGHT NOW.
-
Mr. Leeny's appointment with the mental health agency is rescheduled for April 29. I knew it would be several weeks before they could see him; it was several weeks before they could set up the other appointment.
Now everything's in place again; it's more spaced out now rather than all in the same week.
-
Leeny I really hope you feel better soon *hug*
If you only need a computer at home for email, webpages, and a few programs like word, you should look into getting one of those really small laptops like this:
They work just as well as normal computers. I have one for school for my notes and for the internet at home and they are a lot cheaper

I'm sorry you were so sick last week, Leeny. You continue to be in my prayers. I hope you are able to find a way to be safe and happy. It is not too much to ask!!! {{{hugs}}}

Gini, I just sent the Amazon link to our IT guy and asked him if this will meet my needs for working from home. If it does, I'll probably be getting one very soon.
KW, so far things are holding their own. No more aggression from Mr. Leeny, and his new med seems to be increasing his activity level. I'm still going to see the domestic violence prevention agency on Tuesday, though.
Just got back from my psych dr, and this was a good day to go. After doing well for several weeks on the serotonin med, I started feeling bad again this morning. I now have a script for a med that works on norepinephrine, which I will have filled tonight. After both chemicals are adjusted, I should be fine in a few days.
-
Leeny, warm hugs your way. Good for you that you got in with your doc. I hope the new meds help! Thanks for your well wishes on my thread. To catch you up I have a Chiari Malformation in my brain which is like a herniation of the back of my brain and it is pushing out of my skull! Yucky, I know. Lots of positive energy your way!
