I know many of you know my girlfriend CatherineinWaco, and I have heard about, and met, many of you (some even in different states). And of course I remember none of your names (although I snored in the back seat of somebody's car once). I knew eventually I'd have to actually join. It took an act of pure desperation to finally admit I needed TDK. Some of you have already heard about my, uh, little problem, which embarrasingly has nothing to do with cats.

Ok, here's the story. I am a person who has a hard time making and keeping friendships. I got on Facebook, and started to find a few people I knew 20 to 30 years ago. Literally!
I hadn't spoken to any of them in decades and they remembered me! That was really cool, but then my son got me playing Mafia Wars. I could only get together 4 other people (including family) who would join my "gang." That I think speaks volumes for my social life, but I digress...
Here I was, a lonely little mobster with a total gang of 5, advancing in levels, and getting the poop kicked out of me because the other gangs had members sometimes numbering in the hundreds (the rules let you use only the first 501 members...ONLY). I look around at my life and realize, "Hey, here I am still over 21, with SEVERAL years of experience at it, and I have no friends."
My sweet girlfriend Catherine has LOTS of friends...at TDK.
I've been to the meetings, taken the pictures, met everyone, forgotten their names and went on to the next event. It's time to change that. I need friends, and I need gang members to keep the underdog, uh, I mean undercat from getting beat up. I change the litter box and love on our four brats too, maybe I deserve a little love back?
So the call for help is going out to the TDK help hotline to rescue something other than a cat. I did warn you up front that this had nothing to do with cat's...just really nice people.
You have to be my friend first on Facebook, and then invite me to be in your "gang" in Mafia Wars. That's it. If I get enough new gang members, all the other gangs will stop beating me up and stealing my stuff. Ok, now how silly is that? Well, it did get me to join the wonderful people at TDK...right? Either way, I still end up cleaning out the litter box. ;+)

No worries here about lack of friends, Bill! I don't play online games, but I can be your friend on facebook. How do I find you there?
I know what you mean about finding people that you've lost touch with on Facebook. I recently joined and was immediately contacted by my two best friends from high school. We hadn't been in touch in more than thirty years!
I find the games, tests, gifts and other "applications" on Facebook somewhat overwhelming so I don't do them. I'm sure other TDKers will know about Mafia Wars. :)

I have two grown children. My son is 26 and my daughter is 28. We are lucky that they live near us so we get to see them often. Are your girls out of the nest yet?

I'm very sorry to say they live with their mom. My son is 18, in college, then Gabrielle (the ballerina) is 14, Victoria 13, and Tina 11.

I hope you still get to see your kids. They are of an age where they are going to be spending more and more time with friends than with parents. I remember those teen years! It is interesting to see what kind of adults our kids turn into. I find that I like mine as adults as well as being my kids. :)
