anyone have advice for me....love all 18 lbs of him.....but he will attack without warning and sink his fangs...i have puncture wounds and recently he scratched and i got cellulitis....adore him....BUT what can i do ?

Try Feliway to calm him down. If it doesn't work you might have to get drugs from the vet---cats DO get mental imbalances too!

I had a cat that would attack with no warning and leave my legs punctured. It turns out he had skin cancer and brain tumours that caused him to be in pain and grumpy. I'm not suggesting jack has but he may be unwell and this is his way of letting you know. Take him to the vet for a check up.

Also is Jack neutered? Some male cats get over stimulated when they are being petted and if you miss the warning signs(ears tipped back,tail thrashing) they will and can bite whoever's petting them.
I agree with Moonshadow that illnesses can cause them to bite too,the only 2 times I have been bitten severely by a cat in my life were by cats who were very ill and in pain.
Feliway is available here in the states at Petsmart/Petco. Let us know how you and Jack do.
