  3. Not sure what is up in the UK with cooking, but as my husband will attest, I often turn out gourmet dinners, just for the two of us that I would consider worthy of a fine restaurant. My tilapia topped with crab imperial is just one example of something I might come home and turn out.

    Reading that article just set my teeth on edge!

  5. My husband has never cooked me a meal in his life and couldn't tell gourmet food from McDonalds! He will however now cook food for himself, and boast that he does this, having forgotten that I taught him how. In fact most of the great chefs (not the stupid little jumped up twassock who wrote the article) will tell you they were inspired to cook by the great ood prepared and served by, yes you guessed it, their mothers!

    While I don't agree with this idiot, I don't necessarily agree with his wife either..I think both are lumping all women/men into the same category.

  7. Crazycatman, it's very true that sweeping generalizations do nobody any favors.

    That said... I keep trying to teach the cats how to fix supper, and they just stare at me and whine, something about not having opposable thumbs. Yeesh!

    (Then again, if I asked Mama Kitty to fix up supper, I'd probably be presented with fresh dead squirrel.)

  8. I am married to a wonderful man that does the vast majority of the cooking. He is very good at it, and he even cleans the kitchen. Both of these people are caught in a rut of generalizations.

  10. that is just Sh**, I know a great many women who can cook great meals. I love to experiment in the kichen, I also know a great many men who turn out food like what he described his wife as cooking
