  3. I don't know who could resist all these good treats, AV!

I home with kitties. Hubby left today for Phoenix to watch some of the March Madness basketball games. The kitties and I will hold down the fort. :)

  4. Hi KW and AV. I'll have some treats. I just got back from a business trip and I have had about 7 hours sleep in the last 48 (due to insomnia and staying up too late). So I feel pretty ragged - and slightly hungover also. And Ringo just decided not to use his litter box and instead pee on the newspaper pile in the dining room! Little darling! He has also peed on the beanbag and on a potplant. May have to get another litter tray for this end of the house. He gets his second booster shots tomorrow and then he is nearly ready to allow out. He and Dara are still chasing each other a bit. Dara had to go to the vet on Monday because she was very snuffly and she has an upper respiratory infection - seems to be clearing up with antibiotics but I did wonder if she was also allergic to Ringo!

KW - I hope you're going to indulge yourself while hubby is away.

  5. Welcome back, KK! Sorry you are sleep-deprived.

What is with this allergy to Ringo? Poor guy must feel pretty unpopular. ;)

I am indulging myself. I went shopping for clothes after work. I am performing a wedding for a my daughter's best friend next month and need a dress. Sadly, I didn't see anything that I even wanted to try on! Grrr!!

  6. Is that the wedding where your daughter is bridesmaid? Isn't it really annoying when you go shopping, willing to spend money and can't find anything to buy!

  7. Yes, my daughter is the bridesmaid/maid of honor. It is very annoying to not be able to find anything. I've been looking online too--nada. :(

  9. Gotta go out to the Doctors and get a new asthma inhaler - back later.

  10. I think that will be the solution, KK. Nordstrom's, here I come! lol

I hope you get lots of sleep tonight, KK.

I'm going to watch American Idol. Goodnight, all!

  11. Weather report: Cool, cloudy, with fog predicted overnight and then a Santa Ana wind event forecast for tomorrow. (For anyone who's not a Californian, Santa Ana winds blow down from the north and northeast, and since they come over the desert, bring higher temperatures to the LA basin. In summer, they can be brutal.)

Sophie is settling in. Lady Coco is not happy and has been Greta Garboing for two weeks -- staying in the bedroom mostly. She is gradually beginning to patrol the rest of the apartment when she thinks Sophie isn't around. And if they meet coming around a corner, it's hiss, hiss, war cry from milady and Sophie will try to swat her on the hindquarters as Coco runs by. Hopefully familiarity will breed, if not contempt, indifference. But I would really like them to be friends.

  12. Hi! Mr. WWM and I have had a few glasses of wine so I won't stay. I just want to say that I love you all and thank you so much for the many messages today of support. We have been entirely outside of our knowledge area and have no one to talk to here. You all have been amazing. My love to all of you.

  13. We love you too W&WM! Goodnight to all who've scampered to the nest. :D

  14. Here for a few minutes, going to go watch a couple of movies that I have not watched yet (one being Monte Walsh w/Tom Selleck) and then a bit of tv which hopefully leads to sleep. Seems like it has been a long week and I am just tired as can be, so trying to sleep when I can. Hope that everyone has a good night, sleep well, scritches to the furry ones.

The Santa Ana's can be brutal in the summer, nothing but miserable especially if there isn't a/c in the house. We have winds here but different from the intensity of the SA's, we just have them more often and most times with the dust storms that go with them.

  15. Here for a while catching up on the days posts. Had a busy day here, had several sun damage spots frozen on my hand and one on my forehead. Also I yet again have Costochondritis or inflammation of the cartilage where the ribs join the sternum. It's a bit sore tonight after the Doctor prodded me there. KK took pity on me and had several warts and sun damage spots frozen also so we can blister together. Hey! what are sisters for.
Chatted to Airy today, she was making dinner rolls and they were a roaring success. She is sending me a pic of them and her apple bread. I'm a proud Mama, my last baby has caught the 'make your own bread bug'. It's very satisfying making bread.

  16. Hi MS - ouch - hope your rib pain feels betetr soon. I need a verruca frozen so i sympathise with you and KK!!
I have just bought a book on bread making and am planning on making some next week!! it must be a catching bug!

  17. Woke up from the sleep of the dead for a few minutes, must have been watching tv w/eyes closed, lol.

MS, that is too cool that Airy has caught the bread making bug, must bring a tear to your eye. I love it too except then I eat the whole loaf especially since only one cat likes bread, so dangerous thing. Hope that the rib/sternum pain gets better quickly and that the frozen spots blister up nice and heal neatly without much mess. Same with KK's, it is nice that she got hers done too in that sisterly way :)

Morning Pika, bread making can become addicting.

  18. I have a verruca too but the podiatrist doesn't recommend freezing them for some reason. I'm waiting for it to go on its own. They are just a virus after all.
Airy and Jim-man have found the bread in the US to be too sweet so she thought she would tackle bread making and it's been fun and nerve racking. She says there is nothing quite like eating bread you have made yourself. She is doing it all by hand, no bread maker either. Admittedly she did ring my mum today for advise about rising the dough, by the time they finished talking it had risen.

  19. Time for me to head off to the land of Nod. Shadz isn't inside yet and may have to stay out tonight. However there is a hedgehog snuffling around just out front, I think it may have become lost looking for Jcat's place. Goodnight all.
