Yeah it's been crazy. I'd heard about "Abracadabra Ciavarella" for years but you never think it could happen to you. While he did not send Will away he put him on indefinet probation. The probation officers had him off of the charge after 6 months as they could see my Will was the LAST kid who deserved this. Our hearing lasted about 8 minutes and at its conclusion, I was handed a packet of paperwork 1 1/2 inches thick ALL READY FILLED OUT!! Will was guilty before he ever walked in!!
Will and I are part of the JLC Federal case. I want his record wiped clean!

This is all over the Jersey papers today too Deb. My first impression upon meeting Will is that he's a good kid. All the time good kids just do bonehead things. We all know that bad kids are very good at not getting caught, but good kids always seem to. (I cut school once, got caught, figured I s****d at it, so I didn't do it again.) Get that record expunged!!!

While we are part of the Federal RICO suit, my main goal is exspungement. His case shouldn't have even gone to court. He was at a football game and he was attacked by 4 younger kids. While defending himself, one of the little ba****ds supposedly broke his hand. The kids parents waited 3 DAYS to get the hand x-rayed and CLAIM Will broke it. We did have a lawyer but it didn't matter, in Ciavarella's Court all are presumed Guilty and charged as such.
All I know is I will sleep easier when my boys record is cleared. The Federal case is just the icing on the cake.

Well, when I watched the 20/20 episode I was quite pleased. While the story being dragged up again still brings back some painful memories, the so called Judge made our federal case!!! All cases were predeterimined before the kids ever appeared before him! After Will's case, no one could believe that the paper work (1 1/2 inches thick) was already filed out, ready for the next step in the process. Lawyer, no Lawyer, made no difference. Truth or lies, guilt or innocense all irrelevant! I don't know why we even needed to be there!! What a crock!
I am just waiting now to cheer and dance in the streets when the SOBs get to go to jail for 7.2 years a piece!

Do you have any idea how long it will take to get Will's (and so many others) records cleared?? Are they working closely with the parents? Are they keeping you informed on the process? I feel so deeply for all the kids who had to go thru this...Those SOB's are as low as low can get!

Yes, the JLC are staying in touch with me and I hope to hear soon that that record has been cleared. As far as the federal suit, that could take years but the time may have just shortened with Ciavarela's admissions in the 20/20 interview. Our fingers and paws are crossed :)

Just caught up with this thread, Deb; TDK is fluffy, so I can't even begin to express my real feelings about this. Fingers and paws are crossed here, too, that you and Will get some small form of justice. Seven years is much too short a sentence IMHO.... {{{{Deb and Will}}} Is there any civil remedy for you to pursue?

Good morning KM, The JLC are pursuing the exspungment and they filed a federal class action law suit. Every day now is a waiting game but at least my Will is waiting at home not "little Gitmo" as it has come to be known.
