  1. Hi, Everyone. Just a quick peek in. It's been a rather....unusual.... week and I am just sort of wrung out. But I just wanted to say

AV, ABBY WANTS TO GO TO THE BEACH!!!!!

Well, I think I might call it a night. We have been off watching August Rush. Mr. WWM made many sighing sounds which I have learned to interpret as, "How long does this chick flick last?". But he owed me because I watched the latest James Bond movie with him last night and thought that it was depressing and awful.

    Good night!

    Abby, pack your swimsuit!

  2. .... Abby runs in and packs her pokadot pink/white suit... she throws here "choco kitty" towel in her bag, and stuffs her donut bed in the mesh carrier....looks imployingly up at Mom, ...."come on Mom, please, please let me go"!.......

  3. Hi all, just a quick peek in from me too. Was out with Mr MS and I have popped home to put the leg of lamb in to roast for dinner tonight. Put fresh rosemary and garlic in too.
It's great to read that DM's cat Scout has returned but sad to read about 2B's sons heartbreak with the kitties.
Must go now, trying to time dinner before Earth Hour at 8.30pm tonight when we'll put out our lights for an hour. Anyone else taking part?

  8. Evening, we had Earth Hour, sat there by candle light. Would have been quite romantic except Mr MS fell asleep so I watched Children of Men.
    Reading back posts.

  10. How's your day been Deb, has the wind eased any? Have your allergies been behaving themselves today?

    Posted 2 years ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  11. The winds started to die down this evening, thank goodness and supposed to be about 15 degrees warmer today. Allergies are still here and will never go anywhere but I actually went to Trader Joe's today and bought honey to start taking. My allergist had told me to start taking 1 tsp of honey daily, supposed to be local honey and it would probably help with my allergies. Guess the NZ honey is the best in the world but other than that, localized honey is the next best thing. Also wanted to ask you, have you ever used the syrup from the Blue Agave plant as a sweetner? It is supposed to be good for you, both health wise and is a very good natural sweetner.

And how was your day? Besides the enjoying the candlelight for Earth Hour.

  12. We had a very fruitful day as far as getting things done. We took Mum and mitzi to the vet for Mitzi's pawdicure and the vet gave her a good combing as she is very old now and not grooming herself very well. Mr MS made a stand to hold his fishing rods upright instead of all just lying horizontal on wall hooks. I put vege soil full of sheep pellets and good stuff on the vege garden and flower gardens and sowed beetroot seeds and tomorrow I'll be planting cauliflower and broccoli plants and sowing kohlrabi seeds and planting out Iceland poppies. This evening Meegz txt to see if we had enough dinner left over to feed her, she arrives, eats and departs. It's good to see her smiling and happy. She and the manfriend(MF) are attempting to have a two part breakfast tomorrow. Cereal with his grand parents and bacon and eggs with us. Nothing like a free breakfast.

  13. ha, free food is always a good thing! Sounds like you had a very good day, got a lot of things done.

  14. Yes it was a good day Deb. And now that it's tomorrow(your today) I should be heading off to bed. Shadz is asleep in her bean bag and Mr MS has been snoring away for several hours. I hope work is ***** tonight and the 'Crew' leave you to sleep tomorrow without interruptions.

  15. G'night, sleep well and enjoy the day tomorrow....along with scritches to HRH in the morn. Think I am going to take sleep aids tomorrow so I can really sleep for a few hours. See you tomorrow evening :)

  16. Goodnight Deb.

  17. Thanks for the link about earth hour, MS ( I try to stay up to for you guys, but oft times fall asleep ).....very interesting!

...Deb, the thing about local honey is true -- my allergist (along with many articles I've read ) believe that if you eat a teaspoon of locally made honey, it helps your body's system to build anti-bodies to fight the local allergies... my grandmother swore by it!..... it makes sense to me, almost in the same principle of a vaccine... your system gets a small dose of the "toxins", and it builds a defense system to fight it....I really believe it helps, I drive out to Plant City to get my honey from some bee keepers that have colonies there...... I really can tell a difference, and sadly, I did not drive out there this season, and the pollen has almost killed me!!......maybe I'll drive out there before I head to the beach (since I'll be outdoors!)

  18. AV, I hope it helps, I do not want to go back on the weekly shots that I took for 14 years.

Posted 2 years ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  19. Deb, I hope it does too for you!.... I will say, it will take time for it to work... it must consistently get in your system, and then have time to build up immunities.... so give it a few months.....hopefully you'll notice a difference!.... and when you eat the honey, you want to eat it as raw and unprocessed as possible - in other words, don't stir it in tea or anything, if you can buy it like I do, from the bee keeper, straight from the hives, it's the best for you..... just strain it (to get the comb bits out ) and take a teaspoon a day.....
