Hello all! So my Oona( the kitten) and Jasmine ( the one year old are getting to know each other and are doing well. I picked up some Evo cat food this weekend and both of my girls ate it today. They seemed to like it so I just gave them the Evo, both dry and wet. My little one seems fine, but the oldest one, Jasmine, is sitting in the hallway looking into the room where the litter is, and then we found her laying in the litter box. I'm thinking this means that she has to go but is maybe having some trouble, maybe constipation. I'm going to go more more gradually with the food, but does any one have any remedies for constipation? I have a feeing this is what it is as Evo is a high protein , low carb food. Thanks for your help!

Switching cat foods

Hey there!! I am not sure of this will help...but a couple posts below you is one titled " my kitten has hard poop".....there are about 20 responses to that....I know its not the exact problem your having, but I think there are some good suggestions!! I feed Innova Evo to my little sphynx, and she loves it too....she also used to eat Nutro....thats pretty good too( more grain...rice not corn!) Im sure there will be more TDK'ers with more advise soon though!! Good luck

i know you have to switch foods very slowly, like over a week or even two weeks. EVO is much differant than almost any other cat food, because it uses almost all meat, which is good because cats are obligate carnivores :D so it could be just that it is probably much differant than what your cat was used to before.
i'd try some pumpkin, just make sure it doesn't have spices or anything added to it.
also, maybe try giving her a tiny bit of regular milk. since cats are can't digest lactose, it makes them have runny poo. don't know if that would work or not though, or if it would be to hard on a cats stomach.
i've also heard that cats pupils get bigger when they are in pain. so if she really is in pain you may be able to tell by that.
