Good morning, SOM! I'm doing great - FINALLY have a job! Long-term temp job with the USPS, training likely to begin on April 13th. Upside are wages; downside is 30-40 hours (not always 40), floating coverage, 6 day workweek, no benefits.
Even better news, though! A friend of mine is starting with his new, rapidly growing employer on April 17th; they've gone from 5 to 50 people in the past 18 months. They hire only through referrals from employees, not by advertising. There may be a tech support position available. My friend is planning to refer me for an interview. Upside would be comparable wages, full benefits, 40 hour workweek, and weekends off; downside is that the software supports a troubled industry (auto).

Good Morning SOM and Sio....the coffee smells wonderful and the waffles look especially good this morning...have any strawberry jelly to go with them?

I'm glad you all enjoyed the pictures. I found out the photojournalist has won TWO Emmy's for production. Now I'm even more impressed with the coverage he gave us. Used to be if a photographer showed up at an SCA event, they -always- found the barbarian boob babe in bunny fur, or the person dressed up as Captain Jack Sparrow (lol).
Ooh, strawberry -jam-....I'm looking for inexpensive gifts for family for Christmas, maybe I'll make some strawberry jam when the Michigan berries come on...they are SO GOOD, but they don't transport well... too bad for all you non Michiganders, but wonderful for us :-) Strawberries are already so full of pectin that I might not need anything to boost it.

Hi everyone! The agenda, let's see, it's 19 pages long, the meeting starts at 7pm... oh, MY agenda! I've got a full plate of work to do today. Adjusted my work hours so that there's not a huge gap between work and the board meeting tonight and I've got a new boss. So far so good there.

I've got allergies this morning but don't want to take anything for them. Trying to stay off any kind of med other than what the doctor prescriped and still being really good about what I eat.
I have a meeting at noon with a potential new dog-sitting client. Unfortunately she's 30 minutes away and I really don't feel up to the drive. Oh well - I'll of course go anyway.
I have some other thaings I need to get done and this week is just not very good for trying to take it easy and de-stress. Arrrrgh! -

Morning all, the beach intenet has been up/down, so I'm here sporadically!.... nice day today, sunny, so we're going to get some lazy nap time! yea.... I think I'll drag out my paints today, still trying to figure out a color pallet, since I have no blue.... my first attempts may be strange! LOL

Nothing particularly remarkable in my little world. Working on a schedule so that the gym becomes a habit again. It's all I have left to combat osteopenia/osteoporosis. Getting a medication change.. have done (long ago) all the diet changes. Only other suggestion was to gain 10 pounds. NO thank you !

CM, I'm laughing because I just put my first paint to canvas, and it's almost comical!..... I'm not very good at blending, so some of my brush strokes are a little "off".... plus, I need to watch a tutorial or something about how to get my horizon line more defined.... I think things are too smeary!!!... my sky is a green/grey, and my sea is bright green with purple highlighs!! (funny).... I'm working w/out blue, so I'm having to experiment with mixing colors, etc..... it's fun, nothing to hang up, but good for me to get a feel for the medium. When I get home, I've signed up for a class, so this is just me seeing what it's like, so I won't be a total fall off the vine newbie!!
