  1. Best of luck, Molly!

I just got back from the dog-sitting client's house. WOW, the place is gorgeous! Right by the beach and it's huge. She's not going anywhere it looks, until September, just wanted to meet me. I hope she gives me a call to watch the dog in September - it's far from me but it would be like a vacation.

  2. Good luck on landing that client GD. A mini-vacation sounds grand!

  3. 2P, has your doctor ever suggested Evista for your osteopenia? I have it, too, and tried Fosamax, Actonel and Boniva but couldn't tolerate any of them. I can take Evista, though. The bad thing is that when I get it refilled, the pharmacy tech's actually apologize to me for the cost! We don't have a drug card and so I'm responsible for the entire amount and it is expensive. But broken bones would probably cost more.

So, we're back from Sam's Club and Mr. WWM and I have a theory. You are not allowed to actually leave Sam's Club until you have a minimum of $100 worth of stuff in your basket. :-(

  4. WWM - Have been on Fosamax since 2004 without any problems (until this last DEXA scan showed a loss) - changing to Boniva. Haven't got the script yet so don't know if I'll tolerate it or not. NP said the Boniva is more geared to hip/spine bone replacement. Bonus that it is covered by my insurance !

Ah yes.... there is the dollar store and the hundred dollar store - for me that's Costco !

  5. I have a hiatal hernia, 2P. And a history of ulcers. That's why those drugs just didn't work for me - I just couldn't tolerate them. I thought that the Boniva would be okay, but for two days after I took it I had those "I think I'm getting an ulcer" pains. That's why they switched me to Evista. And if Boniva is covered by your insurance, that is great! It costs like $85 for one pill. Arg.

  6. Oh, my $100.00 store is too close by and there's way too many of them---Target! I swear, I rarely get out of there without spending over $100.00--even if I just run in to 'get a few things'. I ran out of there last weekend with a new computer! :)

  7. I think that it is a conspiracy by terrorists.......

Posted 2 years ago by WillowandWindismom #

  8. News alert WWM, did you not hear: there are no more terrorists! :)

  9. Oh, my gosh - I forgot about that!!! *hangs head in shame*

Posted 2 years ago by WillowandWindismom #

  10. We'll forgive you WWM !

I have no other health issues WWM... I have no worries about Boniva. Only question is when to start! Forgot to ask that question!

Posted 2 years ago by 2 Popoki #

  11. Can't you just start anytime? Is the Fosamax daily? Maybe you would take the Boniva the first day that you don't take the Fosamax? Don't forget to write on your calender when you take the next one!

Posted 2 years ago by WillowandWindismom #

  12. Fosamax is weekly. Would like to do the Boniva early in the month... match with mortgage payment LOL And, take it on a Saturday when I'm not rushed ... since I can't eat for 60 minutes after taking it. Good idea ! I'm likely to forget...

  13. lol, no there is no more 'War on Terror' it is not PC, so therefore it doesn't exist. But then again it has been decided that US Forces can cross borders of other countries....or at least thats what I saw over, and over, and over again on CNN News & Fox News this morning.

So other than that, how the heck is everyone. Glad to see that the week seems to be starting out normally. Got home from work this morning, painted 3 out of 4 wall hangings for the house, my neighbor painted the ornamentation on my security door and I planted lantana in the front yard for the butterflies. Now to go see if I can sleep for a bit at least.

WWM, can't you get one of the prescription cards from Walmart or CVS or the like and that would make the Evista a little bit cheaper at least.

  14. WWM, could you tolerate the one that's given in an IV once a year? Forgot its name but my mother takes it because she couldn't tolerate any of the oral meds.
And she's had no problems with this, and after two years has shown improvement even at 86.

  15. A prescription card at Wal-Mart? *looks dumbfounded and just plain dumb* Uh - I actually don't know anything about that! We don't have CVS here :-(

PJ, I have been seeing the ads for that IV med and have wondered about it. But I'm willing to bet that it isn't inexpensive! I would have to ask my doctor and then do cost comparison. For sure I know what the Evista costs!

Ah, yes - no more war on terror. Isn't it great to know that we won?

Posted 2 years ago by WillowandWindismom #

  16. But the big advantage is it's only once a year! What is it called now? Oh yes, something like "that situation overseas"!

Posted 2 years ago by paulajeanne #

  17. LOL, PJ! I don't know if it has a new name. But I think whatever it's called, it begins with the phrase "We are not your enemy......"

    Here it is - Reclast.

  18. Yes, that's it. My mom thought the first time she had a few aches she attributed to the reclast but this year had no side effects in particular.

Posted 2 years ago by paulajeanne #

  19. My Mom had it one time. I didn't know she did. Have no idea if it helped her or not.

  20. WWM - there is a prescription plan at Walgreens... costs $20/year. I don't know all the ins an outs, but believe you get a discount on meds. Here's a link

  24. Oh, but it's been a long day! A manic 8 hours without a break at work, then a further 3 hours of work from home. I'm now trying to unwind before I go to bed, so as I'll be able to get to sleep!

Obama's landed safely in London, along with his 500 strong entourage - coo, I thought, even Beyonce doesn't have that many people... ;o)

  30. Nearly time for bed. Day off tomorrow, will be doing some more work and popping in to see Mum. Plus have to take Pickle & Button to the vets tomorrow afternoon, for their 6 monthly anti-flea jab Button loves the vets - she comes out of her basket all of her own accord, and curls up purring on the examination table!
