WWM, I'm Ready!!!

(49 posts)
  1. I got the 18th off work - yay! I'm ready to come meet for lunch in Ft. Lauderdale!

Do we know who's coming? We'll need to line up a restaurant as well.

  2. 18 of April or May???

    Posted 2 years ago by 2bpurring #

  3. Yay!!!!!

    It's April, 2bp.

I think that SOM and SOD are coming. I'm hoping Buttercup, but haven't heard. I know that Florida is like Texas and just because we will be in Ft. Lauderdale doesn't mean that it's close for lots of the Florida people. :-( I wish that AV and Dee could come, but I know that Tampa is quite a ways away.

I'm hoping that maybe SOM could pick a restaurant because I think that they have been there before. We are clueless!

    How exciting!!!!!!

  4. Yep, we will be there. We want to go to the west coast one in May also, 2B.

Okay, what do you want to eat? The only really nice spot we know is of the 2 Georges Restaurant but that is up the coast north of Ft. Laud. GD and BC probably know the restaurants there better.

GD, BC if you don't mind a conv. ride we could pick you up on our way down. Just a suggestion. Like we could meet near US 1 someplace and then continue down to FLL. Suggestion, meet around 1-2:00 pm so we could be back on the road by 4-5 (6ish) ...LOL..

  5. Seafood! Or anything really, except Mexican. Seeing as how we live in enchilada land, I don't think so. But we all love seafood! Near the port area would be good, because of course we don't have transportation.

  6. Enchilada land...LOL me too WWM!!!

  7. Wahhhh, I wanna go to this one too! :( (I shouldn't pout, I'm going to the London meetup the previous day, but still....)

Why oh why can't I master being in 2 places at once? Any tips, GD? You seem to pull that off on a regular basis :)

  8. See - it's like I said on MollyCat's thread. We need that transporter thing in Star Trek!

You are going to love meeting the UK group, Kilroy. They are too much fun! However, I would advise against ordering the mushy peas at Porter's.

  9. I swear, one of these days I am just going to hop on a plane and show up at one of these meets....expense be damned!!!

  10. Hey, I happen to like mushy peas :) Hubby and I are drooling in anticipation of the fish and chips with mushy peas at one of our favorite Oxford pubs.

  11. There are a ton of nice seafood restaurants in this area, WWM!

SOM, I would love for us to ride together!

Kilroy, I'll see if I can think of something ;-)

  12. Oh, how fun. Please take lots of pictures.

  14. Great GD!!! That is so great of you! We should probably get WWM addy where they are staying (again) as I don't remember, down by the harbour tho. Maybe rhere is a restaurant right near them, withink walking distance or Bob can run taxi! Woo Woo.

  15. Too bad you don't want Mexican food, WWM, because I'd recommend the Uncle Julio's that just opened there. . .YUM!!! It was just rated the best in Fort Worth by the NBC viewers, too! :)

  16. There are some great seafood restaurants down by the water. I went to one a couple of years ago - wish I could remember the name...

Posted 2 years ago by GreatDane #

  17. This is where we are staying:

I know that it is very near the cruise terminal. I think that there are several restaurants in the area. We are good walkers, so it doesn't matter if it is a little ways a way. There's also that Los Olas area. I don't know anything about it, but I read about it. Might be an area that is very $$$$$?

Posted 2 years ago by WillowandWindismom #

  18. Las Olas is nice - a lot of shops and restaurants, close to the beach. I haven't been in a long time, but I'd assume it's pricier than other places as well.

  19. This place looks nice:

I'll see what else I can find.

Posted 2 years ago by GreatDane #

  20. That does look nice, GD. I can't seem to get to a menu but the view is awesome!

Posted 2 years ago by WillowandWindismom #

  21. Buttercup put some links in this thread. Maybe there would be something here?

  22. RE Bahia: WWM, the menu link is on the left side of their web page. Looks good!

Posted 2 years ago by SammyandOliversmama #

  23. Oh, now I see it - that does look good! How about if y'all just decide, since we are definitely tourists and have no idea?

Posted 2 years ago by WillowandWindismom #

  24. That would be great as we wouldn't be spending time coming and going and we can be 'being'..... yippee!!!

Posted 2 years ago by SammyandOliversmama #

  25. "Being" - sound like fun! :)

Posted 2 years ago by GreatDane #

  26. aww, wish I could join you for lunch. sure sounds better than having a dysfunctional head. :(

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  27. MollyCat???? My gosh - here you are!! I guess I need to go back and check threads!!!!!

If we go there, could we please have a table by the water?

Posted 2 years ago by WillowandWindismom #

  28. Of course - that's part of the attraction :)

Posted 2 years ago by GreatDane #

  29. You got it, WWM~~~
