  4. I've been brushing enough fur out of the girls to make 3 hats!

  5. Ladies, my youngest son has been making a ball of fur from all the fur collected from Tigerlilly. WWM, you would have enough to make a beret for all of us and still have some left over.

  6. How are you today, MollyCat? I hope things can get moving on your medical situation! I'm thinking about you :)

  7. MC, sorry I'm late chiming in, but just had to say I support you 10000% on the head shaving thing. Speaking from experience, half a head of hair is NOT a good look, and it's a royal pain in the *** growing it out. I've told hubby repeatedly that if I ever have to have surgery again (which is really more a *when* than an if), I'm shaving the whole thing and buying a bunch of fabulous hats.

Hang in there, MC. We're all rooting for you.

  8. I'm just catching up too MC!! I'm with you also and have plenty of fur I can donate towards a fabulous hat!! I will begin separating it, Blackbeard is black and white so when we brush him we get a wad of grey.. But brushing BooBoo the calico and Betty the tortie we get the most colorful mounds of fur and although the are more "fall colors" I'm sure that you have some outfits that would coordinate well with them!!!

  9. I've been offline for a while so am keeping up-to-date in fits and starts (spoonerising that one could be amusing). Waiting for results is amazingly stressful - I don't understand why they cannot read an MRI scan pretty well immediately. It's not as if they have to wait for a culture to grow or anything. If the person interpreting the scan is there they should be able to look at it and see what's what almost as you are being scanned. Sorry, end of growl.
I hope all goes really well, whatever the reading of the scan is, and if necessary I will chip in with some British kitty fur for the hat. Mind you catching the little blighters is still a major challenge .......

  11. UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE! TEST RESULTS ARE IN!!!!! The MRI revealed I have a large Chiari Malformation! Duh, really? How shocking! I called the neurosurgeon today and she said they had not yet received my file from my neuro but she took my information over the phone. She changed her tone when she asked what was wrong. I said a Chiari Malformation. She said are you sure? I said yep, confirmed one CAT scan and two MRIs. She was incredibly compassionate after that. She was sweet even if she was just the intake secretary. She said they would work hard to get my file, have the surgeon review it and then call me back. Thinks it will be today.

  24. UPDATE AGAIN!!! I have an appointment with the surgeon on Thursday the 9th at 9am. Getting nervous..... WWM, knit one, PURRL two.... I am so excited with all the pretty hats in the making! Kitty fur hats, the MOST BEAUTIFUL!

    Posted 3 years ago by mollycat71 #

  25. MollyCat, try not to be nervous. Instead, try to look at it as a resolution to all of the pain that you have been having. I know that the very thought of having your skull altered is terrifying. I can only imagine. But if it helps you to regain your life, then it is a good thing.

We have dear friends coming here next week from El Paso. He had a brain tumor totally out of the blue last year. They would not have known except he began having seizures. They just returned from Rome yesterday. Have faith. Medicine has come SO far. And we are all praying. And... knitting.

    Mucho hugs and love.
