LOL - it is easy to laugh at this guy not noticing that he was heading for a cliff. But I know I depend on my sat nav way too much, and do tend to go wherever it tells me. Plus, some actual roads are so narrow and do appear to be just paths across fields, it really is hard to tell what is and isn't a real road! If your sat nav tells you to go there, you just sort of think, 'Well, OK... we'll see where this goes...'

I wish they had said what brand of sat nav he had!!! I would like to know how likely mine is to take me over a cliff! ;-)

  3. On one of the roads I use to travel to Bangor to visit my daughter there was a road sign which read "This is a no-through road, don't trust your SATNAV"

It was there for about 9 months but had gone last time I travelled up.

  4. Excellent idea to put a sign like that up! I bet the poor guy was sick and tired of having cars come up there and possibly getting stuck or whatever.

  5. It looked like a real roadsign - metal, red triangle on a white background, you know the real deal, not a home-made one.

  6. I can see it now. Here come the lawyers lining up and the lawsuits against the GPS maker.

    LOL

  7. I've got a Navman and it's been pretty good so far. Mind you I use it with common-sense and have done some paper map reading before I set off. I need a SatNav because I drive abroad, on my own so much. It isn't always possible to stop and consult a map if I'm not sure I've got the right junction.
