Good morning, all, I am opening up the cafe just before I hie off to bed. The kitties are bemused to see me appearing through the wormhole from the Southern Hemisphere but they wake up and stretch and start winding round my legs for breakfast. While I feed them, I look with approval at all the yummy food being delivered from the bakery next door -- chocolate croissants, apricot brioches, Danish pastries, fresh bread of all kinds, still warm from the oven, ready for splitting and spreading with butter and all kinds of nommy preserves, jams, marmalades, jellies... The jars glow on the tables. Chef kitty has fired up the grill for bacon and eggs, mushrooms and tomatoes, toasted bread and anything else you fancy. There is fresh lightly toasted muesli, chock full of delicious dried fruit, and thick, gloopy Greek yoghurt. Fresh fruit drips off the tables and the coffee is perking. The fragrant steams of many different kinds of tea rise deliciously. Hot chocolate is just waiting for marshmallows to be dunked. Help yourselves, littermates, and have a lovely day!

Nom, nom, nom, someone else better hurry or I will eat all these yummies! Thanks JCAT, you are quite the "cook". Nibbling on grapes as well as a lovely hot buttered roll. Chef Kitty is scrambling me up some cheesey eggs and hashbrowns. YUM! I will indulge in some of that hot chocolate and extra marshmallows for dunking! Good morning all, g'nite JCAT!

Good Morning MC, Good Afternoon Metsa and Good Night jcat.
It's been a chaotic morning already and I just found a few minutes to sit..whew..
How is everyone? Metsa, I hope you feel better soon. Headaches of any kind just are rotten. Big hugs from across the pond.
Anyone know what time Pika is having her surgery? I hope she is done and resting already.
jcat, you are quite the cook and I wish I could wake up every morning to a spread like this :)
MC, how are you feeling?Posted 2 years ago by cricketsmama #

Hi Jcat, Metsa, MC, CM & KH! I could really go for a glass of chocolate milk and a slightly warmed chocolate croissant - mmmm. Oops, sorry faithful agency kitten, didn't mean to drool on you.

Oh, such wonderful aromas come wafting my way as I enter the cafe.... and kitties swarm around my ankles, trying to guide me to their EMPTY food bowls.
Silly kitties, I KNOW they've been fed already...but cats operate under the constant principle "Never Be Afraid To Ask For What You Want"
Actually.... in real human life, this can also work. I had a temporary raise when my supervisor retired, because nobody could supervise or guide me in what I do.. when a new supervisor was hired, I approached the Dean of Libraries and asked that my temporary raise be made permanent, because there -still- was no one who could supervise or guide what I do. (my skill is very specialized: authority control)
Lo and behold....it was done! Gutsy move for me, our raises are totally based on employee groups, not individual performance, and are dictated by the university every year. (we have no merit pay) I beat the odds by asking a question that would benefit me with a "yes" answer, and wouldn't harm me by a "no" answer... I had nothing to lose by asking, and something to gain.
Be bold, my friends, and mighty forces will come to your aid--Basil King

I'm ok ish. Bit headachey and sore, but not too bad. And when this started yesterday, I just relaxed so I think that helped. Got loads I needed to get done today so I was stressing and that caused it I think. And then as soon as it started I knew the pressure was off because I can never go into work the day after - can't concentrate or look at screens for too long - so I just relaxed. And took a load of pills. One or the other means its not too bad, for a migraine. Hope everyone else is having a great day, I think I'll go and stay away from PCs for the rest of today :).

hi Katt, Joan, Siobhan, AV, and NNGM..
Siobhan, Good for you!!! That is wonderful that you asked and received that raise. That's cause for celebration.

Rainy and gross here today, and I have a major case of the blahs. Keeping Pika in my thoughts; hope we get an update soon.
One positive thing to report; we've made the first step in our bathroom renovation successfully, so now I don't have to worry about getting scalded in the shower. Hoping the rest of the project will go smoothly, although the hoops we have to jump through with our apartment complex are, well, complex :)
Feel better soon, Metsa.

Morning to Joan, AV, NNGM and Sio....congrats on the raise, Sio....that is great! You're right, you had nothing to lose, all they could have said was NO, but lucky for you they said YES. Metsa, I hope you will be feeling better soon. CM, I really think we need to move south!

Errand day for me, can't avoid any longer. I've been off all week with spring break so I am sorry to see Friday come. I have gotten quite a bit done this week but wanted to do some varnish and painting in the living room but it was way too cold to open windows (it snowed all week :{.

Hey everyone. I spent yesterday in San Francisco with a friend, and had dinner with my brother at the Cheesecake Factory. MMmmm. My boyfriend rearranged the apartment (we planned on it) and it looks great. I woke up this morning with gunky eyes, and I'm afraid it might be pink eye. I need to go buy some contact solution and a case. I don't want to throw the contacts away just in case it isn't. I'll be going to my school today to do some lab work, and planned on stopping by the health center anyway, so I'll ask them about it when I'm there. *fingers crossed*

Oh my goodness, Kykat! Some of the pictures, let me see, how do I say this delicately, made me want to hurl! Yet others, oddly enough, looked sort of yummy! Hmmm...

Hi all! I had a full morning. First I played tennis with XBF for almost an hour and a half, then I went to feed my friend's cats and then met another friend for tea at Panera. Swung by home to make sure my boys had food and then off to work so I could be here at one.
Big Boss and EBL are both out today so it's nice and relaxed here and I just watched a tennis match on tv.One of my team mates is bothering me with league stuff. I just yesterday set up two teams for the summer with my friends' league. This teammate is on the board of another league and keeps trying to steal everyone away for the summer. I spoke to her last night and it seemed we were all set. Today I find an email from her to all the girls from our team that if they play the other league out of a different club, they can play for free. I spent most of the week explaining to the girls what the differnet teams and leagues were and we were finally all set. Now she goes and offers the other league for free on the same day. SO far it looks like noone's responded. My friends the league coordinators are telling me now they'll waive the league fee for my teams if I can get them which is nice.
It's a big pain in the neck though and nothing I feel like spending more time and effort on. Arrrrgh!
