   i finally heard back from grad school. Unfortunately, they did not accept me but they offered me a waitlist position (if someone got accepted and decided not to go, they pull candidates from the waitlist). I'm not sure how I feel about it, pretty crappy because all i wanted was to be accepted. Anyways, I just thought I would let you all know.

   Sorry to hear that, maybe people will drop out and they will call you sooner than you think? Is there another school you can apply to instead?

   Pika, i didn't apply to any other school because this is the only program/school i want to go to, I've heard it's one of the best programs in the country.

   I'm sorry you didn't get accepted, AL82. I wonder how many are offered the wait list option. That school is very competitive. Being offered a spot on the wait list is still an accomplishment!

   Sometimes these things work out. When I applied to the School of Social Work, it was hugely competitive-600 applicants for 30 spots. I wasn't accepted and thought it was all over. But then I applied to grad school in the Counselor Education program, because counselors and social workers do the same thing in terms of mental health counseling. I was not only accepted, but got a 2 yr grant from the department that paid the tuition! Sometimes you can get what you want in another way. Don't give up! You may yet get in thru the wait list, or try another school. It may be the best school, but other schools can be good, too. I've found that no matter the program, if you are motivated you can make it the best for YOU.

   You know I did the same thing when grad school came around. Here I was one person out of 1500 applying for only 5 spots. I refused to apply anywhere else. While I did get accepted my friend did not. She was waitlisted. By the time everything shook itself out she too was called up off the waitlist. Don't be discouraged yet, things always work out for a reason. Hang in there! We will be rooting for yoU!

    AL I am so sorry you were not accepted yet. Please know you still have a chance of getting in. You are going into a very competetive university and to make it on the waitlist is wonderful! You will get in, please believe that!
