Ruggles and Rotley have been blowing up mouse and fish shaped balloons all morning, and the entire house is filled with them, bobbing up against the ceiling.
The wickets are set up in the back yard, the croquet set is polished and ready, and all the Easter eggs are in place for the Great Birthday Easter Egg Hunt.
Ruggles is five years old today, and he is so excited about his birthday party!
Won't you please come over?
Whoo Hoo!!! BooBoo, Blackbeard and Betty start running around like crazy...It's a party for Ruggles mommy, can we go???? "Only if you behave yourselves" Yay!!! the kitties are running around, the girls looking for just the right thing to wear, Blackbeard will go in his usual pirate atire!! We need a present for our friend....They take mommys credit card and head to the internet...
I think mama just paid to have catnip bags dropped from a stunt plane....oh dear...
The kitties all line up at the cathole..."can we go?"

BooBoo and Betty both give the handsome Ruggles and kiss and Blackbeard gives him a high five paw...
Cricket and Fred are so excited, Ruggles party is today. Fred grabs the gift from him and Cricket, filled with nip mice, cat dancers, 3 different flavors of treats, and a cool hammock to lay in the window.
Cricket grabs a basket from Meowmy filled with scones, cream and jam for the hoomins and some salmon and tuna cakes for the kits.
Bye Meowmy, we will be good for Auntie Emma!! They both whoosh through the cat hole and run to Ruggles. Happy Birthday!! They hug him and give him his gift. Cricket gives Emma the basket and says hello Auntie Emma then runs to Rotley to give him a hug too so he doesn't feel left out.

Pixie is frantically searching for her party dress, screeching at the boys to call marigold and tell her to get ready!!! The boys are wrapping their fave treats (what good boys for sharing) and hoping that Ruggles likes the blue paper with birds on it!!! Hang in there Ruggles its mathem while i get my 4 kits ready!!
Willow streaks up to mama, who will be heading out to her book group, and says, "Today is the BIG day!!!!! It's Ruggles birthday!!!!". Willow grabs her sister, and they tear into their closet to see what they should wear. Willow has a new dress for Easter that is white, with a huge green sash that ties into a bow, and it is decorated with tiny embroidered Easter lilies. Windi decides to wear overalls that are yellow denim and have lots of pockets. She promptly stuffs all of the pockets with yellow Peeps to take to Rotley.
Willow had a terrible time thinking of a purrfect gift for Ruggles, but she finally decided on a small picture frame that has black enamel kitties scampering all around the frame. Inside is a beautiful picture of Willow and Ruggles that was taken at a skating party.
Windi is bringing Ruggles a new napping quilt that mama made that is soft flannel and has kitties all over the fabric.
And of course the girls are bringing a pinata for the party full of treats and toys for the kitties.
Mama hands Willow an enormous bouquet of Texas bluebonnets to give to Emma. Windi is trying to carry a picnic basket full of pineapple and pumpkin empanadas, pan dulce of all types, Mexican wedding cookies, biscochito cookies and a jug of Mexican watermelon liquado (juice).
The girls give mama a kiss and off they go to see the lads!

Betty and Boo run to meet Willow and Windi!! they know they must say Hello quickly, once Rotley and Ruggles see the girls they will want them by their side..."What nice looking couples you 4 make" BooBoo tells them....Still looking around and hoping that Thor will soon be there.
lydia runs to meowmy jumping up and dowm " today is ruggles birthday oooh please can i go? meowmy says yes and lydia runs off to her closet to pick out her favorite party dress. she puts on her lavender colored dress with puffy sleeves and a pink bow in the back. she grabs her pink bow for her hair and asks me to brush her hair before i place the bow between her ears. she grabs a present she picked out for ruggles. it is a cat nip mouse that moves on it's own with batteries, it's all wrapped in kitty birthday paper . she gives me a kiss and a head bonk, jumps into the worm hole and woosh she's at the party.
she sees everyone and says hello and asked where the birthday boy was , and if betty and wilma have arrived yet?
The cat hole opens at Emma's house, and the kits tumble through into the living room.
The little birthday boy is dressed in a handsome white suit and mint green tie, sporting a tiny Easter lily in his lapel. Rotley wears his favorite black leather pants and a white silk poet shirt with a bright yellow scarf. He wants to make sure that everyone sees Windi and himself as a matched set!
The prezzies pile up on the table, Emma gives each kit a wicker Easter basket for the Egg hunt, and all of the guests gather in the living room as the sun streams through the windows.
Everyone looks so lovely!
lydia sees ruggles and says " you look so handsome " thank you for inviting me to your party, i love the balloons and the decorations it is beautiful !! let's play some games!! lydia sees windi and willow and tells them she thinks they look great and gives everyone a hug !!
A pawty! Meomy can we go, can we, cries Sammy??? C'mon Oliver, grab your sandals. Meomy let's take some coconut shrimp to the pawty along with our assorment of catnip toys. *Sammy's lookin for the leis that meomy brought back from somewhere* Oliver, here we go............... thru the wormhole... Uh, that was a rough landing Sam, says Oliver. We gotta practice more! Hi y'all! Hi Auntie Em! Goes and greets all the cats!

There is a soft knock on the patio doors. Rotley opens the drapes quickly, revealing Thor in his Easter suit with Wishes at his side. Rotley opens the doors to the warm spring air and their wonderful next door neighbors. Thor's shy younger brother lags a bit behind as Thor rushes over to BooBoo.
"For you!" Thor says, presenting his calico enchantress with a beautiful pot of peach tulips. "I grew them myself!" he smiles.
Wishes bows to Rotley and Ruggles (he is soooo formal) and the ladies admire his soft gray fur against his pale blue shirt and tie.
"Lydia is so pretty," Wishes tells Thor, when he can finally get his attention!
Leela has been primping in front of the mirror, adjusting her tiarra and making sure her bright pink claw polish looks ok.
She promises mama she will be good, and she will remember her manners. She picks up 2 carefully arranged baskets. One is for Aunt Emma, and is full of daisys in white, yellow and pink. The other is for Ruggles, and is full of plastic eggs, each having treats, toys, catnip or mini crabcake cookies.
Whoosh!
Ta-da! Leela's here. She sees a few familiar faces, but her eyes dart around untill she spots Aunt Emma. "I'm so happy to be here, thank you for inviting me. I brought all these flowers for you. My mama sends virtual hugs to you!"
She finds Ruggles and gives him a big hug the basket full of eggs. "They each have something different in them," Leela explains. "Half the fun is trying to get them open! Happy Birthday!"

Emma hugs Leela and Ruggie takes the basket full of eggs.
"They look wonderful -- thank you so much!" exclaims Ruggles.
The lads open the deck doors wide, and the kits rush out to look at the preparations for the Easter Egg Hunt. Thor and BooBoo sit at the patio table, flutes of nip champagne in front of them and the umbrella shielding them from too much sun. There is a small basket of pastries at BooBoo's elbow, and Wishes sits on the other side, staring at Lydia.
"Lovely day, my dear," observes Thor to BooBoo, as Windi rushes past them.
Windi dashes out to look at the yard full of beautifully decorated eggs. Gingerly she tip-toes onto the grass and spies some nearby eggs. Very carefully, because she has never seen an egg before, she reaches out and taps the egg with her paw. It doesn't move! She's not sure what to make of this beautiful object! She sits down in the grass and stares at the egg wondering if there might be a turtle inside. To pass the time until Rotley comes out, Windi extracts a Peep from her pocket and begins to munch.

Rotley carries a tower of wicker baskets for the Easter Egg Hunt.
"Here, Windi!" and he hands his dearest friend a lovely basket of yellow wicker, trimmed with silk roses and ribbons and filled with soft green Easter grass. "Mama made this for you to collect the eggs."
He stops Windi from eating the pretty egg and shows her how to place it in the basket.
Willow's basket is white with pale pink grass and green ribbons. A chocolate Easter mouse is nestled in each basket as the lads hand them around.
"Ready, steady, go!" and the hunt for the bright eggs begins!
Leela stalks a blue egg. She winds up and pounces on it and it pops up from her paws! She bats it and it rolls away down a slight dip in the grass. She catches up with it and eventually figures how to get it into her basket. Oh there's another one!

Garbo and Hepburn have never been to a party before and are very shy. "Should we go, or shall we stay at home?" They get dressed in their party best, just in case, and sit not too far away from the wormhole. Meowmy throws some treats next to the wormhole and while they are eating gently eases them through.
"Help! We don't know anyone, and this is really scary!!!!!"

Cuddles and Abby swish through the wormhole, furious with Momma because she's been playing golf and they are late to the party! Hi everyone!.... Abby notices two pretty new black kitties in the corner looking shy and scared.... she quietly walks over and introduces herself.... "Hi, I'm Abby, and I'm very glad to meet you...... You both look very nice, would you like to get some punch with me, I'll introduce you to some of the other kitties if you like....
.....mean while Cuddles heads straight for the food table, hoping to find peeps and other candies......maybe some punch too......
Leela is a bit startled hearing a sound as she's hanging out by the wormhole. Whoosh! 2 kitties tumble out and look around nervously. Leela, who is with Abby and Cuddles, quickly introduces herself and points out the birthday boy. She is glad to meet some new friends and together they make their way to Ruggles. Leela, being her chatty self, introduces Hepburn and Garbo to kitties along the way and they even see Emma, who they all hug.

Hepburn Smiles at Abby and says "Hello, this is my sister Garbo. You can't see her pretty bow because it's hiding in her long white fur, and she's too shy to show anyone. Can you introduce us to Ruggles so that we can say Happy Birthday, please?"
Garbo hangs back and looks as if she is going to escape down the wormhole, but then screws up her courage and whispers "Hello, Abby. Nice to meet you."
