What are the Bridge kitties doing for Easter?
(42 posts)-
Shelley, Emma posted this in the "Tristan :-( " thread that Catwoman started when her kitty went to the Bridge:
Tristan purrs happily to himself. His eyes are closed, and he is aware of some large animal cradling him in huge paws.
He blinks, gazing into the wide, golden eyes of the Wolf of Gubbio.
"Welcome, Tristan!" rumbles the Wolf, rubbing Tristan's striped cheek with a large black nose.
"Welcome to the Meadow!" piping voices move over the velvet grass to the contented cat, lying in the paws of the great Wolf.
"You're here just in time!" exclaims Kizzy. "We're going to have a party in few days!" Kizzy rolls in the sweet grass, paws waving.
Norman nudges Tristan's head, and Bastian gives him a sandpaper kiss. Mr. Bug and his troop of kittens sit next to him, and other cats and a few dogs gather near. Bob and Jazz look up from their game and join them, moving through the emerald grass, and Joshie dances over to walk with them.
"We're having a birthday party next week," purrs a sweet mama cat. Her kittens are all grown, and one day she will see them again, and the kind lady who rescued them all.
"A birthday?" smiles Tristan.
"Yes," says the Wolf. "Next week, next Wednesday, we have one soft day of Winter, wrapped in pretty snow and icicles, and we celebrate a birthday!"
"And you are just in time!" says the mama cat. "It's His birthday — that sweet young Man with the scars on His hands."
"And in the meantime," laughs the Wolf, rising to his feet, "tag, you're it!"
Tristan races across the Meadow, his body young and limber and feeling so good! Bob and Shaddo are in hot pursuit, and their laughter streams out behind him.
"He came surrounded by love, like Kizzy," whispers the Wolf. "They blessed, and they were blessed."

yes that was beautiful , that was right after kizzy passed away. i think it was a day or two after, i cried and read that many times. it gave me hope when i felt lost. i was in a fog of scock and grief for a long time. i cried again when i read it, and crying now. it brought kizzy back to life again. and made me realize she is not dead, she is with me.

A whisper is passing among the kitties...another TDK person is coming to join them...someone else to pet them, give them a lap to sit in, and greet the new arrivals...her name is Sharon, and she should arrive just in time to help them chase the beautiful colored egg-bubbles.

Thank you, Emma. I know my Sam and Gretchen (my childhood dachshund) are waiting there, too. Sam is probablt content to just watch the goings on; he was always a very dignified cat, even as a youngster. But Gretchen will be over in the doggy park, happily yapping as she chases eggs.

*A huge family of cats and dogs gather under the gentle morning sunlight. C.C. looks around to find Green Eyes, the one she used to fight with but now loves as a sister. They search out Tinker, a beautiful German Shepherd, and her parents, Casey and Bruno. Pepper, Rusty, and Rusty's four brothers join them. Other cats, some who have been here for many years, approach from the meadow just on the other side of the bridge. They are joined by several dogs. All extended family as they have been adopted by the same people.
They have all come to join the celebration at the bridge. The meadow is alive with excitement.
A voice echoes throughout the meadow. "This is the time we celebrate, the time when the Lord died for his people, and rose again conquering death for all who will believe in Him."
A chorus begins to sing the words of a beautiful song:
"Hosanna, Hosanna to the lamb that was slain
Hosanna, Hosanna, Jesus died and rose again!"The meadow comes alive with cheers as another voice calls out, "Blessed be the name of the Lord!"
Music fills the air, white doves fly in circles, and the meadow is filled to capacity with both human and animal alike celebrating.
Suddenly C.C. stops in her tracks and looks down at the one whose lap she used to sit on while they watched tv. The one who held her as she passed. She senses the sadness of the separation on this day when the earth and Heaven are so close.
The furry calico slips through the wormhole, bringing friends with her to sit close to the one who is still morning their passing. The room is filled with purrs, and soft whimpers from the cats and dogs. The one writing this story sees something that looks like C.C. out of the corner of her eye, but the vision is gone when she turns to look at it. Still, the soft purrs, and wagging tails can be felt for a few seconds before the animals go back to the huge party taking place at the bridge.*
