  1. i know you all enjoy when i tell a little about indian goodies, so here's another opportunity. i celebrate easter with my mother every year, but i see it as a day to remind us to hold up morals and help others all year round. also, i celebrate vaisakhi/bhaisakhi/however you wish to spell it. unfortunately, im unable to have large elabroate festivals or parades or whatver, and won't be with my family in NY this weekend, so i have to enjoy a modified version of it. you can read about it here -

and the famed dancing of punjab that goes with every celebration -

there are parties, parades, songs, festive foods, dances, and all sort of fun things.

i have to mdoerate mine celebrations to sikh related movies and food, but it's still interesting. :) maybe one year soon i will be able to get to the full blown festivities!

sometimes we have house parties and gather our friends around, and serve various desi(indian) foods buffet style, and spend the night singing, dancing, and whatnot. sometimes we let restaurants serve the food, especially here in the west. some indians are very old fashioned and only want to do the cooking themself.
so bascially i will be celebrating easter with mum, then monday ill have a wound down version of the above. this year our local indian association is having a food fest on saturday, so i might just belate the celerbations till then. im not sure yet.
