  4. Yes, I think that we do need a group hug. When I was doing hospice, the hardest thing for me were my patients that were so young and who should have so much life ahead of them. It still breaks my heart but I have learned that we just are not always meant to understand. My heart breaks now for Paul, because I know how lonely he will be without his Sharon. And I hope that hospice is there to help both Sharon and Paul.

Sharon loved to bar hop and loved music. So I think that we should put on an old Buddy Holly record, because she loved his music, and drink a toast to Sharon and to a life, although too short, well lived.

  7. Oh Dear God this is not what I expected. Paul I am so very sorry, please continue to be strong. Sharon you have been brave for so long--live life and create memories and very little regrets! You taught that lesson well. My prayer of peace for whatever comes--rest assured both Sharon and Paul are loved.

  8. My heart is breaking. Godspeed Sharon and much peace for Paul. Is there a shelter designated for gifts?

  9. Oh noooo!!!! I had no idea whatsoever! I have to tell you that these are two of the kindest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. I live only about 1/2 hour from them at most. For those of you who have known about the situation, is there anything I can do? Is Sharon at home or in a hospice? Do they need someone to take care of the cats so that Paul can be with Sharon?

I had their phone number on my fridge since last year, and just cleaned off the fridge last week and threw it out--among a hundred other notes and papers.

  12. I just looked up their address from the TDK Christmas card list and they are only 13 miles away from me. I am off today, working tomorrow 8-3 and off Sunday. I can do anything they need, pick up things from the store or clean litter boxes. Catrancher, if you are in touch with Paul please pass that along. I don't want to intrude.

  13. {{{{EVERYONE}}} Such sad news--I pray she goes peacefully and that Paul has faith that they will one day be together again. Leeny, thanks for posting that picture, and thanks to anyone who offers to help them at this sad time.

  17. Sharon and Paul are the real thing. I'm trying to remember the story Paul told of how they met--I'm just too shaken to think clearly enough to remember. One of them saw the other walking down the street? Eventually, they were walking together. Sharon was sort of skipping ahead of him. He put his arm around her and in his words, said "Yep. This is it." Sharon told of how she would laugh at women who flirted with Paul, since they didn't stand a chance. How rare this is. I am very, very sad.

  19. Wow, what devastating news! I have tears for Sharon and Paul. I never had the pleasure to know Sharon but I feel like I got to know her here just reading your lovely posts. I am so saddened when someone too young passes. It tears me up. I see the elderly pass almost daily but they had a long life lived so while hard it is acceptable. I have some peace knowing that we all will have a beautiful guardian angel in heaven. Sharon will be there to take care of all our kits who have gone over the bridge. I am sure they are preparing a place for her as well as a party for her Heavenly arrival. I am so going to pray for Paul. May Sharon not suffer anymore in this earthly life. God Bless Them Both! Send them all our love ((group hug))

  21. I was so hoping that this was another Sharon! Sharon in Austell was one of the reasons I liked TDK at the first, and one of the ones I missed the most. God Bless her and Paul and their families.

  22. CW, this is just my opinion as a hospice nurse. If I were you, I would call Paul. I know that to have some personal contact would mean the world to him. You would not be intruding - you would be offering love and support. I know that Sharon had hoped to be at home, but whether that is what happened, I don't know. But you have spent time with them and I truly feel that he would be so moved to hear from you.

    Just my thoughts.

  28. I barely knew Sharon...she wasn't on TDK much when I was. I am so sorry to hear that she has been ill for some time. May the transition for her be peaceful and may Paul be comforted by his wonderful memories of her life.

  29. OK, found their phone number on anywho, but I'm sure they are hunkering down for this monster storm as I am. After it passes, I'll call.
