  2. i'll have a skewer of chicken and roasted zucini, onions and tomaotes yummm... i've had a good day today. i didn't accomplish anything. i was exhausted from working at the hospital this weekend. we were very very busy and i inhaled my lunch and was on my feet for over 12 hours. i only worked 2- 12 hour shifts this weekend , but next weekend i work fri , sat and sunday. ..

i wanted to get out and do yard work today, but i just couldn't do it. my feet still hurt and i even wear compression stockings to work. ouch !! they called me to go into work today and i said noooooo wayyyy!! then i would be crippled for my 3 days. lol.... i'm not as young as i use to be thats for sure. so i did nothing today...

we had hamburgers and mashed patotes and corn on the cob for dinner. fruit for desert and the family can have a ice creme cone later if they want. i'm pooped.

    what did you do today?

  3. Evening AV. I already have a glass of whiskey. Some how I bet Sharon is getting a chuckle! I've turned into a "little whiskey girl!"

Been a long day--parent/teacher conferences. Not my favorite day, although I got a lot of work done. I did get to learn how scared my team was during my hospitalization. They were worried my career would be over--no use for an English teacher that can't speak.

  4. my day was actually OK ! My supervisor is also a union steward, and I hadn't seen him since last tuesday afternoon. i talked with him about the 3D studywork I'm doing and he was quite pleased with my progress. also, i got home and Velvet was much perkier this afternoon than she's been in a long time. i also found a dry food she likes - fancy feast dry gourmet cat food. today, she's eaten 1 can of fancy feast, 8 tablespoons of liquefied chicken thighs, and almost 1/2 cup of dry food. it was a good day !!!

  13. Thanks Family,

He was released from the hospital to hospice on Wednesday. He was ok Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, but had what we believe was a massive stroke early Saturday morning. He was on life support, and we knew he probably wouldn't be 'back.' He went very peacefully at 7:22 this morning. We're all hanging in and coping well. We know he and my mom are together again and that's so comforting.

I'll probably see all of you next Monday. Take care,

    xoxox

  17. I have spent over an hour and a half in this class watching the instructor play around with networking equipment and trying to get old routers working. I am soooo bored!!!

  18. HM! I am so sorry for your loss. I believe God prepares us for the inevitable, I know that it is sometimes better to let them go than have them stay here. That is so comforting that he is with your Mom again and they are singing with the angels. Where is the funeral, if I may ask?
    Godspeed.
    Peace,

  22. HM, I sent you an e-mail, but since the only address I have for you is your work, I don't know when you'll see it. Just wanted you to know how sorry I am for your loss, and that the Austin contingent is thinking of you.

  23. Oh HM, I at loss for words. It is never easy to lose a parent whether you are 10 or 45. My condolences to you and your family. I am so sorry for your loss. I am glad he went peacefully though. Sending you a huge comforting hug. Gather your wonderful furrfamily around you. I am sure Rocky will want to cuddle with you. I found out this weekend my grandmother isn't doing so well. We (myself, my sister, brother in law, niece and aunt) all went to visit her on Sunday. She is on strong pain killers and according to my aunt and my mom, they don't think she will last more than a month or two. My step-mom is 65 and already is in tears from the stress of the thought of losing her mother. So it doesn't matter what age you are, it is never easy losing a parent.

Soxsmom, how are you doing nowadays? CM, hope the doctor can help poor Abby's eczema.

  24. Oh, CM! eczema is no fun!..... hopefully, your doctor can help!.....I can remember rubbing mineral oil in daughters' head and gently scraping much of her cradle cap out with my finger nails (grandma's suggestion).... it worked, but took me forever to get the "oiliness" out of daughter's head.... so see what your doctor recommends.....

Past 11pm here, so I'm of to bed... white lights and sweet dreams to all!..

  27. HM, I am so glad that he was with hospice, even if only for a brief time. And I hope that they were a comfort to you. He has been so ill, and I can only imagine that he was so tired and ready to go home. How wonderful that he and your mom are together. No matter how old you are, to lose a parent is hard. But your dad had the best daughter that anyone could ever ask for. He leaves behind a family that is strong and that loved him deeply. What greater legacy could he ask for?

Sending you all of my love and prayers.
