Molly the cat, turns 14 on the 16th of April. It is not her 'real' birthday but her adoption birthday. Like Cheri and Velvet, Molly chose me to be her meowmy. I went to PetsMart looking for a cat and had my eyes set on Snickers an adorable cow cat. I looked at him several times and then decided to go get him. They let him come out of the cage to meet me and he took his big paw and scratched me all the way across the neck and hissed at me (showing teeth!). The young man told me "I don't think you and Snickers are meant to be" He said that they had a poor scrounge come in that morning that would be 'purrfect for someone like me'. He took me to the cage and there in the corner, hiding in the litter box was a shaking scared cat. She had been taken from an abused home and hadn't even been checked in. He let me hold Baghera (now Molly) and she clung onto me for dear life. She lay her head on my shoulder and wrapped her paws around my neck and started to purr. I knew she was mine! I filled out the paperwork and had to wait until the next day to get her. She was sick as could be, full of fleas and mites, and was underweight. After my dad passed and I was lucky (unlucky really) enough to escort the last 3 of my parents cats over the bridge, I let Molly move in with my mom. My mom was lost and needed something to share her love with. Molly is spoiled rotten and is 'Grandma's girl' big time. The only one she ignores Grandma for is ME. I maybe see her once a year but she can be asleep in the darkest corner of the house and when I walk in and say "Molly" she bounds down the stairs in one leap and into my arms. Happy, happy new-birth day to Molly. My Sophie chose me in much the same way. We recently met her old caretaker (she lives in the same building) and much to my chagrin, Sophie ignored her completely. She was mine from day one and she knew it; poor Roxanne was just a stop on the way until I was able to take her home for good.

She will go NUTS! She LOVES greenies! I sent her some myself for her birthday. She eats them so fast that she *burps* after. I have to admit it is cute to watch her inhale them! Thanks Willow and Windi

Happy Birthday Molly!! I love the story of how she came into your life. What a lucky kitty she was to have you come and see her! The visual of her putting both paws around your neck reminds me of my Whiskers. When Whiskers was very scared she would tuck her head under my chin and put both paws around my neck. This happened when she went to the vet. Even though she had a wonderful vet who would hold her close and give her kisses to calm her, she was still a very timid kitty.
Many more happy years Molly kitty!! Sylvester and Mia send salmon and tuna cake and catnip toys to you. A bouquet of flowers to your Grandma and Meowma.

Thanks everyone! Its a great purrday! Grandma is taking Molly to the vets office down the street from her house for grooming and trimming up of her fur. Molly had been completely declawed on all four paws (another example of abuse, she can no longer protect herself were she to get out) and needs to have her paws tended too as well. She got to sit outside most of the day on my mom's porch and enjoy the fresh air. Molly was disgusted but the neighbor cat, Mia, brought her a dead mouse while she was outside today. She hissed at her and walked away!
