  1. Just a quick reminder that our discussion for the April book is 11 days away. It will begin May 1st and be moderated by Soxsmom.

The April selection was The Serpent's Tale by Ariana Franklin.

We will also begin our May book which is The Whistling Season by Ivan Doig.

  5. I only received my book last week so I'm still reading. Enjoyed going home yesterday and sitting in my new living room (with just a couch and chair) with the rain coming down curled up with an afghan. Only problem was that I kept getting interrupted by Leela, who (on purpose, no doubt) keeps putting her crunchie balls, which she loves, under the couch. So, I put down the book, emerge from the afghan, get the yard stick, and she's happy again. Then I go back and try to get thru the rest of the page, sigh.

  6. I am reading it and hate when I have to put it down. Guess I'm going to have to read the rest of the series. I am reading 3 other books right now, I feel like Burgess Meredith in that Twilight Zone episode called Time Enough At Last. Luckily I don't need glasses!

  8. AV, I may be posting late too; I am computerless for the afternoon of May 1. I finished the book the other day and really enjoyed reading it. I'm looking forward to expressing the comments that I've stored in my noggin and everyone's comments.

  9. SM, I wasn't sure I liked the book at first, it was a tad difficult to follow. Then once I got into the "meat" of the book, it was a real page turner! I am glad I got the 3 books in the (sort of) series! Can't wait to see what else Adelia gets herself into! :)

  10. I'm looking forward to being able to join in on the Book Club this time, last time I kept having to be at work. This book was a terrific selection that I would never have known about if not for the Book Club!

  11. Me too KK! I would never have thought in a million years to pick that one up! Its great to have people here with all sorts of tastes, it exposes me to things I may not have experienced. By the way, are we discussing the book today?
