  1. I know that some of you feed your babies Nutro and wanted to share what was on CNN this morning:

  2. Finally!!!!! Thanks, FH!!!
I know it was Nutro that bothered Bobby enough to keep him up all night for months, crying. As soon as I bought a bag of Meow Mix one night when the petstore was closed and fed that to him, he started sleeping at nihgt. Mi had diahrrea on and off of months, too, but hasn't had it since I switched.

  5. Thanks, BC. Since Bosley usually gets all of the attention, I thought it was only fair that Bailey get her '15 minutes'--it's well deserving, too, because she is an absolute sweetheart who loves to give kisses!

  8. Thats horrible!! I used to feed my little girl Nutro, and she never had any problems. Actually a couple weeks ago I recommended the hairball control Nutro mix to Casigglic. Oh no!! Sorry Everyone...I had no idea!!

  10. I've long lost faith in any of the Mars Co. pet food plants. They've become way to big and there's not nearly enough quality control over the processing of pet foods as should be. Thanks for this article FH!

  11. It's odd that some people have no problems with Nutro and some pets get sick. I wonder if some of the food is being manufactured in a different location and the raw product supplier is cutting corners. It would certainly be useful information if the reports included the lot numbers of the food.

Unfortunately, the quality control for any type of food, pet or human, seems to be falling by the wayside.

  12. Oh no! I feed my babies Nutro! The bag is almost empty, so any suggestions of what I should go buy tomorrow, so I can make an easy transition?

  13. libbykate, check out the "food choice" thread....it's always best if you can gradually change the food, some of each and gradually transition to the new but that may not work for you. Sometimes a change in food causes tummy upsets

  14. CBM, I was told they changed their recipe several months back. Bobby had never had a problem before then. Also, I fed them Nutro wet food. Back when they changed the recipe, they changed their labels on the wet food slightly but swore it was the same stuff. Bobby wouldn't touch it! Same flavor and everything, but refused to eat it and I tried several times. I went to PetsMart and got some of the older cans of the supposed same stuff - he sniffed and ate it right away!

LK, after I discovered Nutro didn't agree with me Bob, I switched to Hill's Science Diet - both dry and wet. Bobby is very picky and we tried several brands but both of them love SD!

  15. My Romeo got terribly sick with Nutro. I only had it in the house when Kara ans Karina came home. It's what they had fed them in the shelter. Kara always had a little blood in the stool but I was told it was from being nervous. After I got rid of Nutro in the house altghether, because of Romeo, Kara's supposed "nervous" problem also resolved.

  18. WOW!! This doesn't surprise me a bit!!! CJ came to me from her breeder so, so sick she was initially diagnosed with Manx Syndrome and multiple vets urged me to put her "out of her misery." Her first solid food had been Nutro, and that's what the breeder brought with her.

It took months on various meds and other foods to get her well. (But as you all know, CJ the Rambunctious Twerp, is now alive, well, and bedeviling her mom...and last night she stole my glasses. Again)
