  3. Morning MC and Deb.
    Deb that was too cute!!!
mmmm Cracker Barrel...I will have some of everything from there :) And a large coffee.
Maddie had monsters again last night. So we got a spray bottle of "Monster Spray" that seemed to help finally. We put her to bed at 9 but she didn't go to sleep till after 11. I hope this is not an every night thing.... there's no manual for what to do for this one. She wanted the blue blanket off the couch to sleep with so I let her have that on her bed. She wanted her Dora blankets off. Maybe those scared her for some reason...who knows...

  4. Hello everyone and Happy Earth Day!
and now for the big news...
We Passed! We Passed! We Passed! The voters of the town I work in approved our school budget! This is no small feat in this economy. It has been a grueling 6 months putting together a bare-bones budget and it's built on a zero budget, which means we don't do something just because "we did that last year". Much of it is bound by union contract, and special education, transportation and utilities which are uncontrollable.
*doing the happy dance while agency kittens look on like I'm nuts but attack my feet anyway*
I am going to plant something later today to give back to the Earth.

  6. Great news, Joan! Yay for education!

CM, sorry to hear about Maddie's rough night, but I had to smile at "Monster Spray". You are such a good mom.

Hubby was thinking of getting rid of one of George's cardboard boxes today, but when he put it near the door to take out, George attacked it and spent the rest of the morning killing the evil box monster, so I guess it's staying for now :)

    Happy Wednesday, all.

  7. Hi Kilroy :)
Awww, you can't throw away Georgie's box...he just got it the way he likes it. Maybe we should have George spend the night with Maddie and he can attack all the monsters..lol
The monster spray we gave to her to spray the monsters and of course she sprayed herself and her bed...but not too bad...then after we thought she was in bed for good. She knocked on her bedroom door and wanted Daddy to spray all the monsters. Then we put the bottle in her bed next to her pillow and she fell asleep....

  8. YAY JOAN!!

CM, the Monster Spray is an excellent idea. Maybe add a touch of lavender oil to the water, it's sweet smelling and can aid in relaxation. A drop added to her bath water can be Monster-Away bathtime (lol). It can also make her sheets smell wonderful.

Apparently Tansey had a major wacka yesterday and was playing furiously with a couple of toys, then settled down in the kitty construct to bathe and chase her tail :-) She spins around and around on that top cubby. Sometimes it's hard to believe she's fifteen and not five months (lol)

  9. Good morning/ afternoon MC, Deb, CM, Joan & Kilroy! Yum - Cracker Barrel!

LOL at Whack-a-Mouse, Deb! So funny!

CM - What a good idea - 'Monster Spray'! I love it!

Silly Mr. Kilroy, thinking he could get rid of George's box. What was he thinking? ;-)

Joan - Concats on getting your budget passed! Well done!

  10. Yes, George will guard Maddie!
We wanted to throw out a box from our living room for several months; our house, before the addition, was so small that anything extra seemed to cause great clutter. However, we could only toss (ahem, recycle) it when Shaddo was finished living in it.
MC, thanks for catering Cracker Barrell; everything looks delish!
*firewall blocks kitty whack a mouse, bummer*

  11. MC - How are you feeling today? I'm a bit behind on things - I know you will be having surgery soon. When will it be?

Posted 10 months ago by Rubia in CA, 4/28 #

  12. LOL - have a look at the "Quick thinking averts near cat-astrophe..." thread I posted. Very lucky kitty indeed! :-D

Posted 10 months ago by Rubia in CA, 4/28 #

  13. Hi Siobhan and Rubia!!! How are you both?
I like the lavender idea..where do I buy lavender oil?
Rubia, MC is scheduled for surgery on May 13th.
    Awww Tansey..she's a kitten at heart. :)

  14. Not too bad, thanks for asking CM... foot is hurting in a different place, at my ankle, in a little depression at the front. I'm not sure anymore WHAT I have going on...(sigh)

Do you have a health food store nearby, CM? Or a metaphysical shop? Those are two places you can start to look for lavender essential oil. It's used a lot in aromatherapy.

Posted 10 months ago by Siobhan #

  15. Hello to everyone!
    Glad the budget passed, Joan!
Sio, that was a great idea of adding some lavender oil in the spray!!! OH NO, your pain has moved to your ankle?? UGH! How frustrating, do hope you can get some relief!
    MC, how you doing today??

  16. G'morn Peeps! CM, years ago I bought at the grocery store "The Healing Garden" lavendar therapy spray. It is quite nice. I think it is still available. It lasts a long time with frugality! ;). The buffet looks great, thanks Molly.

I hope this link works....got this from JROC. I have always loved this song, makes me cry or smile, depending on how I am feeling, I guess! Check it out!

  18. SOM, yup, I love the Healing Garden stuff!

  19. CM, the ladies are right on track with the lavender advice. It really aids in falling asleep and if you can get room spray and bath gel in the same scent...and repackage it as monster-away spray it can really help. When one of my nieces was Maddie's age she developed a fear of something she called the "mop-thing" Do you remember the McDonalds Fry Guys? The mop-thing looked like those and hid under her bed and would laugh evilly at her.

    ...yay Joan, the budget passes!

    ... hi everyone else!...

  24. CM, tonight add a drop of vanilla to the water and to her bath. Vanilla is also something that can help you sleep and you probably have it in the house.

Keep an eye on your email. I'm sending you something.

    Posted 10 months ago by KYKAT 12 23 #

  25. Vanilla ? I have that!!

Posted 10 months ago by cricketsmama #

  26. I have posted a bedtime story I wrote for Maddie on its own thread.

  27. .....*sighs*.... I think my cup of motivation is empty today!.... can't seem to get focused to do anything!......a million things started though! LOL

.... just finished the 6th, yes 6TH! load of daughter's only clothes!!!!.... I told her I'd help her out (I usually make her do her own laundry) because she has finals and exams!....... little did I know the last time she washed clothes must have been Christmas!!........ I've never seen so much stuff!.....she has enough clothes to last her all four years at college! LOL

Posted 10 months ago by AV #

  28. Deb, the "Can I come in?" video was sweet, but I agree, how could the mean person with the camera not let the kitty in?

Posted 10 months ago by Kilroy #

  29. I just washed down the high chair...and set it back up. Abbie will be tasting her first taste of Rice cereal next week! She won't really eat it, yet, but she will be getting a taste of it and feel the texture...I did that with Maddie to ease her into the whole cereal thing. :) Where did the time go that she's old enough for that...

Posted 10 months ago by cricketsmama #

  30. Awww, CM....just the start of many milestones to come with Abbie :) The time does fly by, and even moreso, once they start school!
