  1. Just a quick post. My mom is having her second cataract surgery today. This is the "Really Bad Eye" per the doc and he's not sure how it is going to go. He didn't want to do it but my mom said, what the heck? I ask for your thoughts and prayers as she goes thru this. Her surgery is at 830EST. Thanks!

  13. Talked with my sister and mom came thru with flying colors! Much better than first time! The doctor was surprised how well this eye went, he wasn't too encouraged before the surgery. (apparently the eye was pretty damaged). He said at the rate she is going she may NOT need ANY glasses! Nichts, nada, zilch! That makes me jealous! She has had glasses for almost 50 years! That gives me faith that healthcare has come a LONG way!

  25. talked with her today and she is on top of the world. had followup with surgeon and he said she did miraculously. he isn't sure how much her vision will improve but said only time will tell what happens. he said she can have her eyes tested in about a month and they will see if she needs new glasses or NO glasses at all!

  26. Mom had her followup appt with the eye doctor. Looks like he got the cataract but was unable to restore my mom's vision. She had too much nerve damage to her right eye. He said that he should be able to correct it to the point that she will need glasses just for that one eye. She doesn't seem too disappointed though. She said she tried and will deal with the results!
