Hi, everyone! I don't get a chance to visit on the NS very often, but this week has been so strange for me and I find I have time this evening to visit. Things are changing almost daily here at my house - more calls are coming in for work for Richard, John announced two days ago that he is looking at moving to one of the ski towns - Loveland - and he will be taking Buddy and Leela with him, my college son is not coming home for the summer, and last summer a client who also manages one of the Magnolia Hotels, gave us two gift certificates for a free night and we decided to use one for tomorrow night and get away for the weekend, only for me to hurt my left foot so badly that I can't put my weight on it to stand much less walk and I canceled the reservations today - I don't know what I did to my foot but the pain is at the back of the heel and it is better than it was on Monday/Tuesday but still so painful! I am glad that I still have the cane I used when I had back surgery in 2005, I would not be able to go up and down the stairs if I did not have it. I will miss the cats, but I don't think I will miss John, poor kid!
And I know that Richard & I both are looking forward to having the house to ourselves for the summer, it may be the last one here - we have been talking about moving back to Florida late this year and living near the beach somewhere.Posted 3 years ago by KarenCentennial #

Thanks, Lynn, I hope you will feel better soon, too. The gift certificates are good until late June so we should be able to go before they expire - hopefully to use both nights together. I am thinking that "the powers that be" knew that John was planning on moving and that is why my foot acted up, so we would have to cancel now and be able to go later - when we would be able to leave the house empty. I love my sons, but I remember my brother being left alone at my mom's house and having a very destructive party, so I know what to expect if I leave the house in his hands - John is very much like my brother, and John absolutely hates my memory!

That is the way I see it,Lynn. If it is meant to happen, it will, but only at the right time and if it's not the time I planned then it obviously wasn't the right time - kind of like it was when I was on the pill, and got pregnant anyway! Twice! Of course, after that - my plans were to not have any more kids and I made sure those worked by having my tubes tied!! As long as I don't have to worry about anything like that happening, I will let the angels control what they want! I know that I can live with what happens as long as I can spend that time with Richard.

Hi, Opahall, I know for a fact that they can sure hiss at that age and younger - when I was a little girl - way too many 40+some years ago - I got such a kick out of hearing them hiss when they couldn't see what they were hissing at! I wouldn't be surprised if they can purr so young.

Evening all my friends, even if it is for a moment or two before I go for a quick nap before work. I used to be a chocoholic but after getting sick a few years ago that changed, now I rarely eat it anymore.
KW, hope that the cough goes away and that you feel better soon, your nurses are doing their best to comfort you :)
MC, wish that the headache(s) would ease up some, the surgery isn't that far away but still too far away I know. (((hugs)))
GD, you are doing such a good job on your diet, have the stomach problems eased up with following it?
Karen, it will be nice to have the house to yourself and Richard again, even though you will both miss the kits :) Glad that business is picking up. Hope that your heel/foot isn't too bad and that you can replan the getaway to the hotel for the two of you.

Yeah, even thought he wants to deny it, Richard has fallen in love with Leela - he even has her as wallpaper on his cell phone, and makes it a point to pet her every day! John is involved with two different music bands that will be performing in Loveland - hopefully - so I'm sure we will see them and visit a few times so it won't be "cold turkey" type of cat withdrawal! Having the "empty house syndrome" won't be a problem for us, that is for sure!
Well, I'm about to lose the computer to Richard so I'll see ya'll tomorrow.

Evening/morning all Night Shifters, I too was a chocoholic once, now I rarely eat chocolate and only if it's sugar free.
I haven't been on for several days due to very early rising and have been busy with Kapitikats miniKK. We went to the local hot pools, very nice indeed with autumn getting nippy. We also went fishing, I caught a starfish which minikK bravely released for me. The fish weren't biting and all we seemed to catch was sea lettuce which we kept to put on my compost.
Today miniKK flew home to KK and Mr KK(Nana and I are sad).

It's 12.00pm NZ time, ...the night is cold in NZ (and wet) and cold or at least chilly in USA with Old Man Winter on the out..... so time to close Night Shift and snuggle under the comforters, so here goes gratis AZDEBRA, LV, & Tigger from the beginning....good job everyone & bless you...
check - turns fountains off
check - sweep the floor (never know who has been tossing stuff around)
check - lights off and turns out neon "TDK Night-Shift" and "Poetry Jam" sign in window
check - night lights glowing gently, puts on cool jazz radio for ambiance and stragglers check - cat flaps swings creeeeeeeek (pulls out WD-40), check cat flaps again to ensure they swing quietly and effortlessly
check - doors closed, left just ajar so fuzzbutts don't come to us with complaints
check - dry kibble out as a midnight snack (so hopefully no 5 am breakfast wake-up call) and freshens litter-box. Puts away assorted fuzzy, squeaky cat-toys into Toy-Boxcheck - windows slightly open for Northern TDKers' spring and closed for Southern TDKers' autumn.
Goodnight to all our imaginary friends in TDK land, Goodnight Airy and Jim-man. White light,healing energy and prayer for all those in need. Be careful out there!

AZ, thanks for asking - my stomach's doing much better! I've had too much stress last week and the beginning of this one, but eating better has helped prevent pain. I still haven't had caffeine - for 5 weeks now! - and I'm feeling good because of it. The headache for the first 10 days was absolutely horrible, but I don't remember having a headache since! I used to have them almost every day, so I'm very happy with that!
