In honor of Veterans day we are having red, white and blue pancakes. (Raspberries, blueberries and white chocolate chips) with warm fresh fruite compote and whipped cream on top. Extra strong military coffee. AND a big platter of bacon and eggs.

Thank you very much Pipa's Mum. It all sounds delicious. Extra piping hot coffee with all the "fixings" on the side table to add if you like...which are chocolate, cinnamon, fresh whipped cream, amaretto, baileys, and kahlua.
The people who have off today are the schools and our government. The rest of us souls are working today. It was a nice commute this morning. I got to work way to early. Wish it was like this every day. Oh well.

Not all schools have today off, Karin... I go to a private college, the only holidays (not counting Thanksgiving and Christmas) we get off are Columbus Day and MLK jr Day. Well, day students get those days ... the students in my program don't... *sigh* I miss high school lol

Most public schools around here are open. I find it sad, not because I'm looking for a day off, but because our schoolchildren may loose sight of the meaning of Veterans Day (formerly Armisists Day).
So, before I devour these delicious and colorful pancakes, "Thank you, Lord, for instilling bravery in so many men and women, and let them know that we will never forget them. Bless our fellow TDKr's and those who prepared this yummy meal. Amen." *holds up hot chocolate with tons of whipped cream on top* Thank you, Veterans - CHEERS!!!

To furtner honor our veterans we will NOT be serving creamed chipped beef on toast for lunch. How about hotdogs, fried chicken, BBQ and Apple Pie!

I am so late today. I hope there are leftover pancakes. I can eat them for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Just warm them up, slap some butter on, and top with apricot or maple syrup.
